Spider-Man Spider-Man, Does Whatever A Spider Can!

Livello 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Phil Hellmuth & Spider-Man
Phil Hellmuth & Spider-Man

No we haven't lost the plot here in Malta, Spider-Man has just paid us a visit in the tournament area!

He sat behind Phil Hellmuth for over five minutes and Spider-Man event called the clock on the 12-time WSOP bracelet winner!

We asked Spider-Man if he called the clock on Hellmuth and he simply said, "No comment. But I would like to say Hellmuth won his first bracelet with {9-}{9-} so what the hell was he doing slowrolling with pocket nines this time?"

Hellmuth folded what he claimed was pocket nines, but how did Spider-Man know? Was his Spider-Sense tingling?

Dato Doubles Through Rossiter

Andrea Dato has just doubled up through Australia's Jeffrey Rossiter over on Table 2.

A preflop raising war broke between Dato and Rossiter that resulted n the former being all in and at risk of elimination, but once the cards were turned onto their backs Dato's chances of staying in the WPT Malta main event massively increased.

Dato{A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Rossiter{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Rossiter caught up slightly when the {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs} flop came down but the {A-Hearts} on the turn meant he was drawing dead. The {3-Spades} river completed the hand and Rossiter was asked to give Rossiter 44,975 chips. The Aussie obviously wasn't happy but he still has 73,000 and is still in a very healthy position.

Phil Hellmuth Is In The House

Phil Hellmuth has just arrived after buying in just before the dinner break. Hellmuth is sporting his black Aria clothing and looks like he has lost some weight and s actually smiling for once and is looking happy. How long will that last part remain true? We cannot answer that right now.

Multi-tasking Duhamel Adds To Stack

Livello 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Kiryl Radzivonau was the player UTG+1 and he looked down at his cards, liked what he saw and raised to 1,025. The next two players folded but former World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel found time to three-bet to 2,250 despite playing online poker on his iPad.

Suddenly Radzivonau's hand did not look so strong and he quickly sent it back to the muck.

Pescaglini Heads To The Sidelines

Cecilia Pescaglini
Cecilia Pescaglini

Cecilia Pescaglini has been eliminated at the hands of Alfonso Amendola. The chips went flying in on the {4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Pescaglini holding the best hand with her {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} . However, it only stayed the best hand until the river because the {j-Hearts} fell on the turn then the {A-Hearts} on the river to improve Amendola's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} to the best hand and the volatile Pescaglini has been eliminated.

Nabuurs River Shove Folds Out Latz

Livello 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Joining the action on a {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} board where Puk Nabuurs had moved all-in for 38,000, putting the maximum amount of pressure on Hendik Latz.

Lats looked like he was about to call but he ultimately got out of the way.

"Will you tell me what you had after the tournament?" pleaded Latz before adding "I had ace-high but I wanted to call."

"After today, maybe I will tell you," came the reply.

Then Vladimir Geshkenbein piped up. "Great play! Call the turn and then fold the river. Put half of your stack in and then fold! You might still make it to the dinner break though!"
