Ace King Isn't Treating Dwan Well

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Earlier in the tournament, we reported that Tom Dwan lost a big hand to Amit Makhija when Makhija flopped a set against Dwan's AK. Well Dwan must have been feeling deja vu all over again with this hand that just knocked him out. Dwan went all in preflop, and Robert Williamson III made the call.

Dwan: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Williamson III: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The flop was once again brutal to Dwan as it came {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The turn and river provided no help as it came the {8-Spades} and {8-Diamonds}, and Dwan hurried on over to the 10k omaha hi-low tournament to late register.

Jarvis Folds to River Shove

With the board reading {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{Q-Spades}, one player checked to Matthew Jarvis. He bet 1,250 and his opponent check-raised to 3,850. Jarvis flatted and the {A-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Jarvis' opponent moved all in and had Jarvis' 16,000 or so behind covered. Jarvis tanked for a minute and then gave it up, allowing his opponent to scoop the chips.

Shut. Down. Everything.

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

There was pandemonium over on table 40, where a dealer had accidentally flipped up a card during the initial deal. The dealer immediately called the floor over to get a ruling.

"Unless it's one of the first two cards off the deck, it's not a misdeal," the floorman said. As per the WSOP rules, the deal continues as if it wasn't exposed, then the last card off the top replaces the exposed card and the exposed card becomes the first burn card.

"The last dealer that was here called a misdeal and it was the same thing!" another player exclaimed. Nevertheless, the problem was solved (correctly) and as it turns out, the hand ended after a button raise. Now let's get back to some poker.

Eslami Gets Check-Raised

The flop was {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Spades} and one player checked to Ali Eslami. He bet 1,125 and his opponent check-raised to 3,125. Eslami folded and lost a little bit of chips. Still, he's doing much better since being knocked back to about 6,500 not too long ago.

Charder Can't Catch on River

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

We came to Christian Harder's table and noticed that he was in a pretty big hand on the turn. The board read {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Harder had put a bet out for around 2000. His opponent moved all in for 4,125 more and Harder thought for about 30 seconds before calling. Harder was ahead on the flop with {10-Spades}{9-Spades} but had fallen behind on the turn with his opponent showing {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The river brought a {6-} and Harder doubled him up and was knocked down to about 3,500.

Jose "Nacho" Barbero in action
Jose "Nacho" Barbero in action

Jose Ignacio Barbero has slipped to 26,000 in chips after losing a big pot to Chris Tryba.

The action folded to Tryba who raised to 800 from the button, only to see Barbero raise it up out of the big blind, making it 2,500 to go. Tryba called, so off they went heads-up to the flop of {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Barbero opened for 2,425 and Tryba called before the dealer produced the {Q-Hearts} on the turn. Barbero fired out a second shell worth 3,750 and Tryba thought about it long and hard before making the call to see the river of the {7-Spades}.

This time, Barbero checked, which prompted Tryba to quickly move all in.

Barbero asked for a count (13,475), then cut out the amount to call and looked back down at his stack. It would cost him almost half his stack to call.

"Really, that much?" he said to Tryba. "So sick. I'm guessing you have spades there."

After about three minutes in the tank, he threw his hands up in the air, sighed loudly and then kicked his hand into the muck. "Hit the river there?" he asked Tryba.

"I hit the flop too!" Tryba replied as he raked in the pot. "I didn't think you were ever ahead." Tryba is now up to 30,500 in chips.

Robert Williamson III Gets Unfortunate Welcome

Livello 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

We reported earlier that Table 22 in the black section was the proverbial "table of death" with Cliff Josephy, Amit Makhija,Tommy Vedes, and Tom Dwan. A player recently busted from the table and we were anxious to see who would take the empty seat. Well Williamson just took his seat, making this table that much more ridiculous. We will be sure to keep an eye on this one.

Maria Ho: out of lives
Maria Ho: out of lives

Maria "Super Mario" Ho has bowed of this tournament, having been eliminated at the hands of Bryan Bulthaup.

As Bulthaup recalled to us, Ho had moved the last of her money in with pocket nines, only to watch on as Bulthaup's {A-}{Q-Clubs} hit the club flush on the turn. Bulthaup is up to 13,300 in chips, but for Ho, it's game over.
