Stuery Spikes Spades to Spear Ramdin

Livello 18

Hold'em:

We caught the action with the flop reading {Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Victor Ramdin battling with Aaron Steury. After Steury checked to Ramdin, the PokerStars Team Pro fired a bet of 5,000 and Stuery made the call.

Turn: {8-Spades}

Stuery checked-called a bet by Ramdin again on the turn, this time for 10,000.

River: {3-Spades}

Both players checked it down and Stuery tabled the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for a runner-runner nut flush, offering a "nice check" to Ramdin as he dragged the chips his way. Ramdin now sits with 147,000 chips as we head to our final break of the evening.

Ramdin Rolls Over Brunson

Livello 18

Stud-8:

We missed the preliminary action but witnessed Victor Ramdin making a raise that forced Todd Brunson to muck his hand on fifth street. Ramdin showed Brunson three kings in a show of sportsmanship as he collected the pot. These two grizzled veterans of the tournament circuit are seated next to each other, so we expect the the action to heat up as each man looks to become the table captain in the latter stages of Day 2.

Brett Jungblut Busted

Livello 18

Stud-8:

We missed the action ourselves but caught Bret Jungblut standing up to study his opponent's final board in a hand of Stud-8. Apparently he did not like what he saw because we soon heard the familiar call of "Seat open!" as Jungblut departed the Amazon Room.

On fourth, fifth and sixth street, Farzad Rouhani bet and Pat Pezzin called. Both players then checked seventh. Rouhani showed the {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} for queens and sixes and Pezzin mucked.

Lake Sinks Bach

Livello 18

Stud:

We caught a hand involving Scott Lake and David Bach, winner of the $50K H.O.R.S.E. Championship at the 2009 WSOP.

Bach: (X)(X) - {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Lake: (X)(X) - {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

On third street Bach bet 4,000 and Lake made the call. Fourth street saw Bach check and Lake fire a bet of 8,000 into the pot. Bach made the call and on fifth street Lake led out again. This time Bach decided to raise it up, making it 16,000 to go. Lake came along and both players checked it down on sixth street.

After receiving their final down cards on seventh street both Bach and Lake tapped the table, and Lake announced "eights and nines" while flipping up his {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} down cards. This was good enough to force a muck by Bach and Lake chipped up nicely in the hand.

Sullivan Snags Schwartz In Razz

Livello 17

Razz:

Reputed H.O.R.S.E. rookie Timothy Sullivan added another notch to his belt after dispatching Justin Schwartz in a hand of razz. Schwartz was all in after third street and the rest of the player's boards were dealt face up.

Sullivan: {4-}{9-}{4-}{2-}{5-}{5-}{J-}
Schwartz: {8-}{3-}{8-}{K-}{3-}{10-}{Q-}

While he made two pair, which is generally a bad thing in razz, Sullivan's 2-4-5-9-J low was good enough to beat Schwartz' 3-8-10-Q-K. Sullivan continued his amazing run through this tough field after just learning how to play H.O.R.S.E. yesterday before beginning the tournament.

Chow-ing Down

Livello 17

Hold'em:

From the button, John D'Agostino raised. Michael Chow called from the small blind and the two went to the flop, which came down {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Chow led into D'Agostino and D'Agostino called.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and Chow led into D'Agostino again. Again D'Agostino called before the dealer completed the board with the {8-Spades} on the river. Chow bet again and D'Agostino called.

Chow tabled the {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a pair of jacks and D'Agostino mucked. Chow is now up to 190,000 in chips.
