Orlina's Aces Hold, Flush Finishes Reddy Off

Livello 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Joh Orlina pushed all-in for his last 40,000 or so chips and Sumanth Reddy insta-called with his {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Orlina tabled the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and was in the lead at the moment. After the dealer spread a final board of {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, Orlina's bullets were good and he scored the double-up to nearly 80,000 chips.

Just two hands later Orlina moved in for the kill on the newly short-stacked Reddy and the players got all of the chips middle once more. This time it was Reddy who held pocket rockets with his {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Orlina tabled the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and looked to accomplish what Reddy had failed to do two hands earlier: crack aces.

The dealer spread a flop of {2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Orlina did the trick, flopping the nut flush to take command in the hand. A {2-Hearts} on the river afforded Reddy a slim chance of survival, as he could now spike a deuce or the case ace to make a full house.

River: {7-Clubs}

With that, Reddy's tournament had come to an end and he was eliminated in 28th place. Orlina now sits with about 140,000 chips as we move to our last three tables.

Maggard Makes It Happen

Livello 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

We saw both Dapreesch Scates and Matthew Maggard standing in anticipation as they had both committed nearly equal sized stacks in an all-in confrontation.

Showdown:

Scates: {10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Maggard: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{A-Spades}

The board rolled out {6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Scates' two pair, kings and queens, were bested by Maggard's aces and kings. Scates exited in 29th place while Maggard climbed to approximately 130,000 chips as we near our final three tables in this tournament.

Michael Binger Falls

Livello 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Michael Binger (Event #11)
Michael Binger (Event #11)

On the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, Renier Gonzalez checked and Firoz Pirani fired 10,000. Michael Binger raised to 40,000 and then Gonzalez folded. Pirani reraised all in and Binger called to put himself at risk. He held the {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a straight and flush draw combo. Pirani held the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for three pair.

The turn made things quick and easy as the {Q-Hearts} fell on gave Pirani a full house, leaving Binger drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {5-Hearts}.

Welch Wins It With River Bet

Livello 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

With the board reading {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and more than 45,000 chips up for grabs, Ryan Welch fired a nearly pot-sized bet of 40,000. His opponent on the button mulled it over for a minute or so before laying his hand down. Welch built his stack to nearly 195,000 with the uncontested win.

Nick Binger (Event #16)

Nick Binger was just eliminated from the tournament. His {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades} went down to Rafe Kibrit's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Action folded to Kibrit in the cutoff seat and he raised to 8,500. Binger potted it to 27,500 from the big blind with only about 10,000 behind. Kibrit went all in and Binger called. From there, the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} to end Binger's tournament. Kibrit moved to 180,000 in chips.

Zani Busted by Do

Livello 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

After a player under the gun opened to 8,500, Resulaska Zani reraised all in for 26,000 from the next seat. Action folded to Quinn Do in the cutoff seat and he reraised all in. Everyone folded to leave Zani and Do heads up.

Zani: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Do: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Do was able to eliminate Zani en route to 110,000 in chips.

Do's best World Series of Poker finish came back in 2005 when he won the $2,500 Limit Hold'em for $265,975. He also final table another event, the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout, that year as well, placing fifth for $34,465. To capture his bracelet, Do defeated a final table that included "Captain" Tom Franklin and Noah Boeken from the field of 373 entrants. Do's largest score money wise came in 2008 when he placed second to none other than Phil Ivey at the L.A. Poker Classic for $909,400.

Binger Bags Another One, Building Momentum

Livello 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

After a few doubles in a row to build his micro-stack of 2,500 to over 25,000 chips, Nick Binger began using a patient strategy that most amateurs would simply not have the stomach for. With massive pots being contested at each of our four remaining tables, Binger kept his composure and waited for the right spot to score his next win.

That spot arrived with Binger on the button and holding {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. He pushed his last 19,000 or so chips into the middle and again called his brother Michael over to sweat the action. The big blind made the call with his {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Binger was at risk, but when the flop fell {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} his chances improved dramatically.

Binger had flopped top pair and an open ended straight flush draw, and while the big blind also connected with an open ended straight draw of his own, Binger seemed to know he was going to end up on top. The turn came {J-Diamonds} improving Binger to trip jacks, and the river completed his flush with the {8-Clubs}.

Michael rushed over to see the outcome of the hand and Nick announced "three jacks" as the dealer corrected him, showing him the club flush. Either way, this double-up pushes Binger's stack to over 40,000, a remarkable feat considering he had just a single big blind when play resumed over an hour ago.

Rinker Sends one to the Rail

When we caught up to the action at 276 we found Frank Rusnak putting out a bet of 12,000 on a flop of {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Richard Rinker the only other player in the hand reraised and made it 66,000. Rusnak then moved all in and was summarily called.

Rinker held {J-Spades}{J-}{10-Spades}{9-} and for a set of jacks and an open-ended straight draw, Rusnak on the other hand only had a pair of aces with his {A-}{A-}{6-}{9-}.

The {4-Clubs} turn and the {Q-Clubs} river were no help to Rusnak as he was elminated.

Payan Doubles

Livello 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Dmitry Motorov bet the pot for 32,000 on the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Payan raised all in for 48,000 and Motorov made the call. Motorov held the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Payan the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The turn brought the {J-Hearts} to give Payan an unbeatable flush. The river completed the board with the {9-Spades}.
