Clemencon Bests Mosseri

Livello 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Tristan Clemencon bet 22,000 and Abe Mosseri called. The turn was the {K-Hearts} and after Clemencon checked, Mosseri bet 35,000. Clemencon called. The river was the {K-Spades} and both players checked.

Clemencon tabled the {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for the flush to win the pot. Mosseri mucked and dropped back to 280,000. Clemencon improved to 335,000.

Melting Away

Livello 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

This group seems more focused on the impending money bubble than most $10k fields. Plenty of short stacks are getting shorter and shorter and shorter, and other players, even those with sizable stacks, seem to taking an extra few seconds (or minutes) to make every decision. We've heard the clock called in a few spots and expect that some fed-up players will be using it more often. They're still 17 players out of the money.

Tony Cousineau isn't going to be able to blind away for that long, but he's looking for the right spot to risk his chips. Action folded to Vanessa Selbst in the small blind in one hand we just witnessed, and she raised to 12,000. Rather than let her steal his blind or ship, Cousineau called, leaving himself about 55,000 behind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and Selbst bet. Cousineau folded, much to Selbst's disappointment. She showed {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a flopped boat.

Clemencon Completes Teska's Demise

Livello 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Roger Teska had close to 400,000 at dinner break and was among the chip leaders. But he cooled off big time and after dropping a few major pots was on the short side. After a player in middle position limped, Tristan Clemencon over-limped. In the small blind, Teska potted it to 22,000. The first limper called, but Clemencon had everyone exactly where he wanted them and made it 94,000 to see a flop. Teska called all in for 91,000, and after three minutes in the tank, the third player folded.

Teska: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Clemencon: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Clemencon's aces were in the lead, but the {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop was huge for Teska, giving him a straight and flush redraw. The {j-Clubs} on the turn gave Clemencon two ace outs. He couldn't hit a third jack because Will Failla was busy having a heart attack that he'd folded jacks and would have made quads. And there, on the river, was the shiny {a-Diamonds}. Clemecon jumped out of his chair with a yell, issuing a few celebratory grunts while Teska stared at the board in shock.

Clemencon is up to 270,000.

Chartier Outier

From the button, Aaron Schaff raised to 10,000. John Shipley called from the small blind and then Sam Chartier reraised to 44,000 from the big blind. Schaff called and Shipley folded.

The flop came down {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Chartier moved all in. Schaff called with the {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Chartier held the {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} to give Schaff a straight. The river completed the board with the {2-Diamonds} and that was it for Chartier as he was eliminated.

Mike Matusow moves on
Mike Matusow moves on

Mike Matusow has left the building. He was so oddly quiet all day, it's almost like he was never here. Roger Teska raised to 7,000, and Matusow potted to 25,500, which left him with 19,000 behind. Ludovic Lacay and Teska both flatted rather than putting him all in. The flop fell {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, and Teska checked. Matusow dutifully stuck in his 19,000, and Lacay potted to 84,500. Teska repotted, and Lacay called all in. Both he and Matusow were at risk to big-stack Teska.

Matusow: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} - top pair, top kicker
Lacay: {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} - two pair and an open-ender
Teska: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} - nut-flush draw

The {4-Spades} on the turn ended the sweat, giving Lacay a full house. After the meaningless {9-Clubs} river, Matusow was eliminated, Teska dropped to 150,000, and Lacay jumped up to 230,000.
