Event #43: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em

Giorno 3 iniziato

Day 3 of Event #43: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em About To Begin

A little more than 48 hours ago 2,857 players came out with the dream of winning a gold WSOP bracelet and $675,117. Today only 34 players remain. At the top of the pack is tournament chip leader Byron Kaverman holding 1,345,000 in chips. Close behind Kaverman are Douglas Yamashiro with 722,000 and Simon Watt with 648,000.

These no limit tournaments are able to see a slew of players be eliminated in a short period of time, and that's exactly what happened yesterday. Day 2 play began with 385 players and most of them did not make the cut on to day 3. Among the notable players eliminated during day 2 are Jonathan Aguiar, Kathy Liebert, Erica Shoenberg, Dwyte Pilgrim, Maria Ho, and Bernard Lee. Still alive and in contention for the bracelet today is Team PokerStars Pro (Brazil) Andre Akkari.

Today we will be playing ten more levels and hopefully crowning a champion by the end of play today. As always, stay tuned to PokerNews for the most current updates!

The cards are in the air for the expected final day of Event #43: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em.

When we say expected, we are meant to play down to a winner today, but with the new ten-level hard-stop rule, it may be difficult to crown a winner by the completion of the day.

34 players are left, all eyeing the coveted gold bracelet, so stay tuned to PokerNews.com for all the exclusive live updates.

Snails Pace Start

Livello 21 : 2,000/6,000, 12,000 ante

Although the expected start to day three of a tournament normally sees chips flying as short stacks look to push and gain some momentum, the start to today has been fairly sombre.

Not to much action to kick things off sees a very slow pace being set for the expected final day, and if this pace continues, it is more than likely that today will be extended until a day four.

Naquin Clips Yamashiro

Livello 21 : 2,000/6,000, 12,000 ante

With the board reading {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Douglas Yamashiro fired out 50,000 from the small blind and Jacob Naquin made the call.

When the river landed the {7-Hearts}, Yamashiro checked and Naquin tossed in 65,000. Yamashiro folded, and Naquin snagged his first pot of the day.

Hulyk Doubles

Action folded around to Andreas Adolfsson on the button who raised to 25,000. The small blind got out of the way and Darya Hulyk moved all in for her remaining 180,000. Adolfsson quickly called, showing {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} which was ahead of Hulyk's {K-Spades}{9-Spades}

The flop came {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Hulyk picked up a flush draw and a gutshot straight draw for a chop. The {2-Clubs} hit the turn and much to the disappointment of Adolfsson, the {3-Spades} rivered, giving Hulyk a winning flush. Hulyk scooped the pot while Adolfsson was crippled.

We can also report that on another table, Andre Akkari doubled up through Andrew Youngblood, holding {A-Spades}{K-Spades} on a {Q-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} board. Akkari is now sitting with around 460,000
