Lee Gets Run Down

Livello 6 : 300/600, 75 ante
Chris Lee has a long hill to climb if he wants to repeat this scene from Event #29
Chris Lee has a long hill to climb if he wants to repeat this scene from Event #29

Chris Lee completed with a {7-} showing, and the gentleman to his right raised to two bets. Lee raised it back, and his opponent made it four bets to go. Lee flatted this time, and off they went.

Lee: (X)(X) / {7-}{4-}{2-}{7-} / (X)
Opponent: (X)(X) / {6-}{8-}{6-}{5-} / (X)

Lee bet his lead on fourth street, and his opponent called. We're assuming he bet again on fifth, but both player simultaneously put in the bet. On sixth, Mr. Opponent had just 475 chips left, and he bet them all in with the lead. Lee called, turning over {A-} {3-} in the hole. The all-in player was behind with his {A-} {4-}, but Lee paired the {3-} on seventh to keep him drawing live. He pulled a {3-} as well, and it was a good one for him. He improved on the last two streets while Lee could not, and he's doubled up, and that loss knocks "Genius28" all the way down to just about 1,150 chips.

Negreanu Gets Crazied

We found 'Crazy' Mike Thorpe all in with one card to go against Daniel Negreanu who had a 7-6-5-4-3 low at the end. Thorpe’s board showed {A-}{7-} / {3-}{J-}{6-}{3-} meaning he would need to hit a five, four or two to win the hand. Thorpe did indeed hit a {4-} which gave him 7-6-4-3-A for a better low which doubled him up.

Out the Door

Livello 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

We just saw Kirk Morrison and Yuval Bronshtein both getting eliminated. Without a word, Bronshtein bolted out of the room with a slight scowl. It was quite a contrast to Morrison who hung around for several minutes to shake the hands of everyone at his table and wish them all good luck and happy drinking.

Not So Tiny Tim

Fiorvanti: (X)(X) / {3-}{6-}{3-}{4-}
Opponent: (X)(X) / {4-}{6-}{9-}{K-}

We caught up with the action on sixth where Tim Fiorvanti bet and his opponent contemplated his choices. The player eventually moved all in and Fiorvanti made the call. The players flipped their cards and Fiorvanti showed {9-}{7-} which was ahead of his opponent's {7-}{6-}. Fiorvanti hit an {A-} on the end to give him a seven-low. This had his opponent drawing dead and the player was eliminated while Fiorvanti moved up the leaderboard.

The Name Game

Livello 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

We found Mike Matusow in a hand where he bet showing (X)(X) / {J-}{10-}{X-} and his opponent Charles Crouch, who can be found in this post, held (X)(X) / {2-}{K-}{2-} and folded. There was nothing too interesting about the actual hand whatsoever, in fact it was completely standard. However Crouch told us “Make sure you get my name down, random player one”. Matusow then said “Make sure you get my name down too, it’s idiot”. Sorry guys, you can't fool us since we actually know your names.

Durrrr on the Move

Livello 5 : 250/500, 50 ante

We just found Tom Dwan sprinting around the tables to his seat. Since he is on a 20 minute break in Day 2 of the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship, like many of smaller tournaments that he has multi-tabled so far, this Razz event could be a quick boom or bust exit for Dwan.

Needless to say, in his first hand, Dwan had the bring in. After he folded on fourth, his stack had already bled down to 5,700. Dwan also asked Daniel Alaei if he could set the alarm on his phone for him to 11:51 which will give Dwan enough time to play a few hands here before he gets back to his bigger tournament.
