Lindley Gives It Up

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Christina Lindley raised to 800 under the gun and received calls from the woman in the cutoff and Mandi Incorvaia in the big blind. When the flop fell {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Incorvaia checked, Lindley bet 1,700, and the cutoff min-raised to 3,400. Incorvaia quickly got out of the way while Lindley made the call.

After the dealer burned and turned the {9-Spades}, Lindley checked, the cutoff moved all in for 5,575, and Lindley snap-folded. She is still well above the chip average with 24,000.

Bilney Busto

"Aussie" Sarah Bilney has just been sent to the rail at the hands of Shola Akindele, who is now up to 31,000 in chips as the action continues here in the $1,000 Ladies Championship.

Bilney got the last of her money into the middle before the flop with {Q-}{Q-}, but ran smack into Akindele's {K-}{K-}.

"Board bricks out, pretty standard," Akindele said.

Carpe Diem!

Diem Phan raised to 1,050 before the flop and the action folded around to a player getting in touch with his feminine side who re-raised to 2,200. Phan called, so it was heads-up to the flop that read {J-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Diem checked, the male player snap-shoved and Phan insta-called.

Opponent: {Q-}{Q-}
Phan: {A-}{J-}

Phan's hand held up after the turn and river bricked out {K-}, {8-} and the round of applause went up once again. Phan is now sitting pretty with a stack worth more than 30,000.

Wilson's Stack Gets Whacked

Pam Wilson opened for 900 from middle position and action folded around to the player in the small blind, who re-raised to 2,000. The big blind folded and Wilson made the call.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Wilson's opponent immediately went all in. Wilson shrugged and called.

Wilson: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {Q-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river were no help to Wilson and she was knocked down to just 2,600.

Brummer Spitting Hot Fire!

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Just a few minutes ago, we looked up when we heard the familiar sound of a celebratory scream and we saw that Gretchen "The Dragon Lady" Brummer was doing a mini dance in what we assumed was a big pot for her. We walked on over, and saw that her stack size had grown to about 21,000. We asked her what happened, and she gave us a recap of the big hand.

The under the gun player moved all in for 3,200, and action folded all the way around to Brummer in the small blind. She looked down at {q-}{q-} and decided to flat call. The big blind then moved all in for 5,000 more, and Brummer went deep into the tanks. She said "It felt like she was thinking for 10 minutes, but in reality it was probably only two." She decided to make the call, and saw she was in fairly good shape. The big blind had {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, but one of those outs was taken, as the under the gun player had {a-Spades}{4-Spades}. The board bricked out for both, and Brummer scored the double knock out, giving her 21,000 in chips.

How Does She Do It?

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Less than 10 minutes ago we reported on a hand that saw Brazilian Maria Mayrinck reduced to just 1,500 in chips. Well, that has changed in a hurry. We just passed by Mayrinck's table and she has built her stack all the way up to 9,000.

When asked how she did it, Mayrinck responded: "I've been playing every hand." Obviously it is working.

O'Brien Eliminated

As we wandered past Kirsty Chick and Wooka Kim's table, we saw Lana O'Brien chatting to Heath "TassieDevil" Chick and Dave "F-Train" Behr. As she recalled to us, she got the last of her money into the middle with {A-}{8-} before the flop, but ran into an opponent's {A-}{K-}.

While O'Brien may be on the other side of the rail now, the same cannot be said for France's Celine Bastian, who is sharing space with Chick and Kim. Bastian's now up to more than 25,000 in chips and we should also remind you, last year's winner, Vanessa Hellebuyck, was also French.

Could this be the year that the tricolor rises again?

Nutini Knocked Out

A player opened for 650 from early position and Stacey Nutini pushed all-in for 4,250. The player on the button over-called and everyone else folded, including the original raiser.

Nutini: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} board was no help to Nutini and she was eliminated.

Mayrinck Runs Eights into Tens

Livello 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

From what we could piece together, Maria Mayrinck limped from early position only to have a player in middle position move all in for 4,475 more. Action folded back to Mayrinck and she hit the tank. A call constitute 75% of her stack, meaning this was one of those crucial spots in every woman's tournament. Eventually Mayrinck made the call and discovered the bad news.

Mayrinck: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out an uneventful {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, leaving Mayrinck with a stack of 1,500.
