So Long, Sointula

Livello 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Jani Sointula open-shoved all in from middle position for 109,000 and it folded around to the small blind who reraised to 210,000, forcing out the big blind.

Sointula tabled {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}, but the small blind had woken up with {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The board brought no help to Sointula, coming {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and he has been eliminated.

Iadisernia Knocks Out Two in Loud Cooler

We found Michael Meredith and David Docherty both all in preflop and at risk against the Venezuelan [Removed:150] in what was a pot of around 600,000.

Iadisernia: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Docherty: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Meredith: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

With the ESPN camera crew rolling and with the table directly next to the rail, one of Iadisernia’s railbirds with a Venezuelan flag began screaming loudly. This caused several players from other tables to rush over to check out what was going on. Aaron Jones whos back was to the screaming railbird even had to cover his ears due to the noise.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and the railbird cheered saying it was over. That was until the {A-Spades} came on the turn and everyone gasped as it gave Docherty outs to one of the two remaining aces in the deck. The river was the {J-Hearts} though and the railbird began yelling again as Iadisernia had eliminated both opponents.

Lindgren Sneaks One Through

A player in middle position opened for 17,000 and was called by the button. The small blind folded and Erick Lindgren thought for a bit before re-raising to 63,000 total from the big. The original raiser flatted and the button folded.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Lindgren pushed out a 70,000 bet. His opponent thought for a bit, but landed on a fold.

"You scared me for a second," Lindgren said. He then tabled {3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

"That was a great flop for the eight-three," Lindgren added with a grin.

Thanks to that hand, Lindgren is now up to 440,000.

Mark Down Another For Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi - still in contention
Sorel Mizzi - still in contention

Sorel Mizzi has just taken out another opponent to pad his stack up with more than 560,000 as the action continues here in Day 4 of the 2011 WSOP Main Event.

From early position, Mizzi raised to 18,000 before his rival in middle position shoved for 218,000 total. The others out of the way and Mizzi insta-called, showing down {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} against his adversary's {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

The case king came down on the flop of {3-Hearts}{K-Spades}{6-Spades} to give Mizzi the set, which then improved to a full house on the turn of the {6-Diamonds}, sealing the opponent's fate. The river {2-Diamonds} blanked out on the river - in case you were interested.

Tony Takes It

Tony Hachem
Tony Hachem

Tony Hachem raised from the cutoff to 18,000 and it folded to the big blind who reraised to 48,000. Hachem made the call.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}. Hachem's opponent didn't waste too much time carving out a bet of 62,000. Hachem immediately stacked out 62,000 himself, then added an extra stack of orange and pushed it all out together as a raise to 162,000. His opponent thought about 20 seconds, then let it go.

"I didn't want you to suck out," said Hachem, showing one of his hole cards, the {8-Diamonds}. Hachem sits with about 580,000.

Zhukov, He Gone!

Viacheslav Zhukov has just been sent to the rail at the hands of Phil Collins as we tick over into the final level of play for Day 4.

The action folded around to Collins who raised to 22,000 from the small blind before the flop, only to see Zhukov flat-call from the big blind to go head-up to the flop of {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

Collins checked to Zhukov who led out for 25,000, but Collins then check-raised to 100,000 straight. After a long, long time in the tank, Zhukov moved all-in for aorund 200,000. Collins double-fist-pump-snap-called.

Collins: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Zhukov: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Despite being ahead pre-flop, Zhukov had hit two pair with his soooted cards and then improve to a full house when the repeat {7-Hearts} fell on the turn. However, Collins spiked the {A-Diamonds} on the river to score himself the counterfeit full house, the 900,000-chip pot and Zhukov's scalp!

Musumeci Makes a Misstep

Amada Musumeci
Amada Musumeci

Amanda Musumeci opened by raising to 20,00 and was called by both the hijack and the big blind. The flop came {2-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and all three players checked.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and the big blind player threw out a bet of 30,000. Musumeci made the call and the player back in the hijack called as well. Fifth street brought the {4-Hearts} and the big blind checked. Musumeci pushed out 42,000 and the hijack quickly raised to 125,000. The big blind folded and action was back around to Musumeci.

Musumeci removed her glasses and pondered the situation at hand. She sat thinking for over a minute and a half before dropping in a call. Her opponent flipped up {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a set of fives and Musumeci could only shake her head. She mucked her cards and dropped to 1,100,000.

Diamonds are Forever

When we reached Table 371, the board read {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, and Claudia Crawford had a player all in and at risk.

Crawford: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Unfortunately for her opponent, he was drawing dead, rendering the {6-Spades} on the river a meaningless card. Crawford's stack has jetted upwards the past level - she now has over a million chips.

No Mas, Ramirez

Our PokerNews reporter picked up the action into a pot worth around 90,000 between five players, including Colombia's Guillermo Ramirez into a flop of {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. All the players checked around, but then Ramirez (small blind) checked to his opponent in the big blind who led out for 67,000 on the turn of the {2-Spades}.

The UTG player, cutoff and button folded, but Ramirez called before meekly betting about 50,000 on the river of the {2-Clubs}. The big blind beat him into the pot and Ramirez quick-mucked before the big blind player showed {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to confirm the win.

Ramirez is down to less than 1.2 million as a result.
