Rock 'n' Rawle

Livello 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Ben Lamb opened with a standard raise from middle position, and Steve Rawle called from the big blind. The flop came {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Rawle led with a bet of 80,000 and Lamb called. Both then checked the {9-Hearts} turn.

The river brought the {A-Diamonds} and a quick bet of 110,000 from Rawle. Lamb plucked the calling chips from off the top of his huge stack and shook them in his hand for a moment. Finally he tossed them forward, and Rawle turned over {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} for two pair. Lamb nodded and mucked his cards.

Lamb still has about 4.9 million, while Rawle sits with about 1.85 million.

Collins Rings Retallick's Bell

Phil Collins
Phil Collins

We heard the all too familiar "all in and call" chant from Phil Collins's table and went over to see what was happened. Daniel Retallick had put his last 600,000 in preflop, and Phil Collins was the only caller. The cards were tabled, and Retallick saw that he was in rough shape again Collins.

Collins: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Retallick: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The ESPN cameras took their positions, and the dealer showed a flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, Both players picked up a pair, but Collins was still well out front. The {7-Clubs} on the turn ended any chance of a backdoor draw or chop for Retallick, who needed one of the three remaining queens to stay alive. The river came the {2-Clubs}, and Collins scored the knockout, upping his chip stack to 3.6 million, while Retallick headed for the rail.

David Sands
David Sands

David Sands opened under the gun and was met with a re-raise from Thomas Pedersen from the big blind. Sands four-bet shoved for 698,000 and Pedersen called.

Sands: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Pedersen: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

It was quite the sweat for Sands as it took the cameras a decent amount of time to get to the table, but Sands held up as the board ran out {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{Q-Spades}.

Kelly's Blue Book Value: 2.475 Million

Just before the break...

In early position, Max Heinzelmann opened with a raise to 50,000, and JP Kelly three-bet him to 130,000 on the button. Heinzelmann called, and it was heads-up to the flop.

Heinzelmann checked the {K-Clubs} {3-Spades} {10-Diamonds} flop, and Kelly took his cue to continue out with 140,000. His opponent then check-raised, but we couldn't decipher the amount before Kelly called to proceed. The turn card came the {K-Spades}, and Heinzelmann led out small with 260,000. Kelly flatted there, and Heinzelmann bet another 450,000 on the {K-Hearts} river with trips on board. Kelly wasted no time calling, and Heinzelmann announced he had a full house. "Me, too," Kelly confirmed.

Showdown
Heinzelmann: {10-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}
Kelly: {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}

Kelly won't get a break as he spends the next few minutes stacking that massive pot. It vaults him all the way up close to 2.5 million, while the German wonder Heinzelmann is left with just 570,000.

Last Short Break

Livello 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

In the last ten minutes of level 21 and the first hour of level 22, we’ve lost around 20 more players and the remaining 160ish are on a quick 10 minute break.

Ben Lamb has reclaimed the lead and is the first to surpass the five million chip mark. Pius Heinz and David Bach are each over the four million mark. A few of the biggest movers were Kyle Johnson, Bryan Devonshire and Aleksandr Mozhnyakov who all crossed the three million mark and are in the top ten in chips.

Some of those who perished were Garry Gates, Steven Tabb and Martin De Knijff.

We’ll be back shortly for the final hour of play and hope to see you then.

Colin Up to One Million

Action folded around the table to Stefan Huber in middle position. He reaised to 40,000. Bryan Colin made the call from the small blind and Ray Henson called from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Colin checked. Henson also checked and then Huber checked to send the players to the turn, which was the {5-Spades}. Colin led with a bet of 100,000 and Henson called. Huber thought about it for a little while, but then folded his hand.

The river competed the board with the {8-Hearts} and Colin fired 185,000. Henson folded and dropped back to 770,000 in chips. Colin moved to an even million.

Jace Continues to Bleed

John Esposito opened for 55,000 in early position and Daryl Jace called from the cutoff. Guy Gorelik called from the button and the trio went to a flop of {9-Clubs} {6-Spades} {Q-Hearts}. Esposito checked, Jace bet 115,000 and Gorelik raised to 450,000. Esposito got out of the way and Jace called.

The turn came {4-Diamonds} and Jace checked. Gorelik moved all in pretty quickly for 860,000. Jace went deep in the tank, visibly unsure of what to do. Goreliks bet would leave Jace with a little over 400,000. Jace lifted his palms upwards with a shrug and buried his face in his hands. He mumbling to himself and then turned to Gorelik and asked if he had {6-} {5-}.

Esposito grew tired of the wait and called the clock on Jace. Approaching the ten second countdown Jace released his hand. Gorelik showed the {K-Spades} as he tossed his cards back to the dealer.
