Rightmire Finds Number Five

Robin Rightmire raised to 12,000 from UTG+1 and Jason Mercier made the call.

Rightmire stood pat and Mercier drew one. Rightmire immediately bet 20,500 and Mercier muttered something along the lines of, "This is such a nitty call," and put out the chips. Rightmire showed {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a smooth eight and Mercier folded, later saying on twitter that he had an {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}.

The Rail

Livello 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,500 ante

Right now, the seats are pretty empty here on the main feature stage. However, Matt Perrins of the UK seems to have a nice rail of Brits. It's not quite the show we saw from the Brits at Jake Cody's Heads-Up Championship final match, but it is still early. Also on the rail is yesterday's $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Champion, Allen Bari, who is good friends with Jason Mercier.

Mercier Putting Up A Fight

Livello 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,500 ante

As expected, Jason Mercier is using the short stack to his advantage and just picked up a nice pot from Chris Bjorin.

From late position, Bjorin raised to 12,000 and Mercier, on the button, moved all in for around 90,000. Bjorin did think about it but eventually folded, giving Mercier the pot and moving him up to about 130,000. With the blinds and antes as high as they are, every pot is important at this point, especially for the short stacks.

Another One For Bjorin

Matt Perrins minraised in the small blind and Chris Bjorin called in the big blind.

Perrins drew two and Bjorin drew one, the former checked and Bjorin bet 15,000. Perrins made the call but could only muck when Bjorin turned over {10-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

First All In Of The Day

Thomas Fuller
Thomas Fuller

Thomas Fuller raised to 17,000 from early position and got a call from Bernard Lee in the cutoff. Both players drew one.

After the draw, Fuller took his time and then bet 21,000. Lee counted out the call and then went into the tank for about two minutes before moving all in. Fuller took little time folding, and Lee took down the decently-sized pot

Cautious Start

Livello 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,500 ante

Josh Brikis raised the small blind and Bernard Lee made the call in the big blind. Brikis stood pat and Lee drew one card. Both players checked and Lee's {K-}{9-}{7-}{4-}{2-} was good.

Josh Brikis raised on the button, and this time Matt Perrins defended in the big blind. We missed the drawing action but it went check-check and Perrins turned over {J-}{10-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the pot.

Jason Mercier opened to 12,000 from UTG+1 and won the blinds and antes.

Bjorin Starts Off Strong

Livello 17 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

From early position, Matt Perrins raised to 8,000 and got calls from Chris Bjorin in late position, Robin Rightmire in the cutoff, and Josh Brikis in the big blind. Josh drew three, Perrins drew two, Bjorin drew one, and Rightmire drew one.

Brikis checked, Perrins checked, Bjorin bet 20,000, Rightmire folded, Brikis folded, and Perrins made the call.

Bjorin showed a monster with {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} to win the first post-draw pot of the final table worth about 80,000.

Livello 17 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

We've just started with six minutes remaining of this level, and Chris Bjorin wins the first hand with a raise on the button to 10,000.

"Go on Perrins, make it snow!!" shouts one of his rail.
