Event #27: $1,500 Big O
Giorno 1 completo
Day 1 is complete here in Event #27: $1,500 Big O at the 2024 World Series Of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. There were 1,555 entries with 234 players being paid and 232 of whom bagged up for Day 2. The biggest stack after Day 1 is three-time bracelet winner Sammy Farha.
Farha was able to build a big stack early when he picked up aces and got all the chips in the middle preflop. He then had a bit of a rollercoaster type of day, but later in the night after having a few encounters with Calvin Anderson, Farha got the best of him when his all-in jam on the river got Anderson to snap fold and he scooped a big pot.

The four players who busted on the bubble will split two payouts worth $1,501 each.
Action is set to resume at 1 p.m. local time, starting at Level 16 at the 3,000/6,000 blind levels, with 58 minutes left in the level. A player was all in versus Scott Bohlman on a 3♣2♦3♥ flop for 33,000 with 42,000 in the pot on the money bubble.
All in Player: A♠J♣4♥3♦2♥
Scott Bohlman: 9♠7♠6♦3♠2♠
Both players flopped a full house, but the 9♣ on the turn gave Bohlman the better full house. Then the 4♣ on the river did improve the all-in player to a bigger full house, but the threes-full of nine was still the best high hand, and because of the four hitting on the river, Bohlman also had the best low with six-seven.

After a short stack moved all in, both blinds called and checked down to the river of the Q♥7♥10♦8♥Q♠ board.
Yann Perron fired 25,000 from the small blind and was called. The tournament director then instructed players to show down their hands, with Perron tabling Q♠Q♦J♦7♣5♣.
Perron took down the pot with quads, eliminating a player before bagging for the night.

Play has resumed on Level 16, with hand-for-hand in effect until the bubble has burst.
Livello: 16
Bui: 3,000/6,000
Ante: 6,000
The 236 remaining players have been sent on an additional 15-minute break, two spots away from the money.
Action will continue until 234 remain, when players will bag up for Day 2.
An early position open to 11,000 was met with a three-bet to 26,000 from Jose Paz-Gutierrez. Yuval Bronshtein called on the button, as did Kane Kalas in the big blind. The initial raiser called all in, and the dealer fanned out the 3♣J♣2♣ flop.
Paz-Gutierrez, Bronshtein, and Kalas checked through the 10♣ turn and 4♦ river, with no more chips going into the middle. Bronshtein was the last to check, announcing that he had made a wheel.
Bronshtein showed A♥Q♠7♠5♥4♣ to claim the high and low, knocking out a player while adding some chips to his stack on the bubble.
