Final Starting Flight of EPT Main Event Kicks Off Today, Last Chance for Players to Bag for Day 2

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Monte Carlo series, running at the stunning Sporting Monte-Carlo venue on the French Riviera, continues today with Day 1b of the €5,300 EPT Main Event. The second and final starting flight kicks off today at midday, giving players one more opportunity to make it through.

Day 1a attracted 393 entries, which topped last year's figures by exactly 30 entries. The prize pool by the end of the flight was €2,580,200 and has already grown to over €3 million including those who had registered for Day 1b.

Spanish poker player and streamer Elias Gutierrez topped the first flight, bagging an impressive 336,000 chips, while Rania Nasreddine claimed second place with 302,000. They have the counts to chase as action begins today.

Previous champions in the Monte Carlo Main Event include Dutch poker legend Rob Hollink, won the first edition of this event in 2005, Gavin Griffin, Mohsin Charania, Adrian Mateos, Manig Loeser, and last year's champion Mike Watson, who claimed €749,425 for his victory.

Back to Day 1b, where players will begin the tournament with a 30,000 starting stack. The flight will run for ten 60-minute levels, with a 20-minute break every two levels and a 75-minute dinner break at the end of Level 6. Two entries maximum are allowed across both starting flights, with late registration open until the start of Day 2 on Tuesday, April 30.
