Welcome to Day 1d of the 2023 WSOP Paradise $5,000 Main Event!

Main Event Bracelet

The final Day 1 flight of the 2023 World Series of Poker Paradise Event #10: $5,000 Main Event Championship is set to get underway from Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas this morning and with 2,703 players having already entered, the event is less than 300 entries from smashing through it's massive guaranteed prize-pool of $15,000,000.

Before today, three live flights and one online flight have already played and concluded, sending 401 surviving player players into Day 2 with chips and a min-cash. The field will play down to the money and however many players that ends up being will join those 401 players already eagerly awaiting their Day 2 session.

This flight does come with a difference in strategy, though, because unlike the 40-minute levels used for all other live Day 1 sessions, this flight will play with a turbo structure as blinds will increase every 20 minutes for the duration of the day. This means that depending on speed of play at each table, players can expect to get somewhere between five and seven hands per level and will not have the luxury of waiting around for premium starting cards. Because of these factors, you can expect an absolutely action packed day as players chase a seat in what will be their last chance to advance to Day 2 in the Main Event.

Alex Keating
Alex Keating

Stephen Song raised to 10,000 from under the gun and found one caller in Alex Keating from the button leading to a A66 flop.

Song checked over to Keating who checked it back to bring the 5 out on the turn.

Song checked it over to Keating again, but Keating had no such plans to check it back again as he reached into his stack and came back out with a bet of 13,000. Song wasted little time in making the call to see the A fall on the turn.

Song checked a third time and Keating entered a short tank, even burning a timebank as he pondered his action. Eventually, he would reach into his stack once more and toss out a bet of 75,000. Song quickly folded only to see Keating table the J10 for the stone-cold bluff.
