First Bust Out of the Day

Livello 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

With several short stacks to start the day, we figured eliminations would come fast and furious. And proving that, we have an elimination on the first hand of play. Garrett Winslow got the last of his chips in against Robert Dillon, and Dillon was surpised to see he was in a dominant position.

Dillon: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Winslow {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Dillon's two pair was enough to score the first elimination of the day.

Marohn Doubles Through Lashlee

Livello 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

From middle position Christopher Marohn moved all in for 14,400. After some thought Aaron Lashlee decided to call from the big blind and the hands were turned face up.

Marohn: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Lashlee: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} which didn't directly improve Marohn's hand but left him seventeen outs with two cards left. The {5-Diamonds} turn completed both his wheel strait and Queen high flush draw. The {q-Clubs} river allowed Marohn to double up to about 32,000 while Lashlee has dropped to 40,000.

Aces don't Always Win

Livello 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

When you are a short stack and you look down at pocket aces, you feel like you have hit the jackpot. Unfortunately for Ryan Fox, it quickly turned to disaster as he has busted from the event. Fox shoved his last 9,000 into the pot and was called by Christopher Ooley and Stefan Martin.

The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Ooley bet out causing Martin to fold. Ooley showed {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a flopped set, and Fox would need help with his {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. He wouldn't get it, as the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and Fox has been eliminated.

Early Double Up For Havill

Livello 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

David Havill from open-raised to 5,500 from the button and John Pack re-raised out of the small blind to 20,000 and change. Havill called for his remaining stack and needed help going to the flop.

Showdown
Havill: {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Pack: {Q-}{Q-}

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, giving Pack a dominating lead with a set. The turn came {4-Diamonds}, which left Havill drawing slim. However, the {10-Hearts} on the river gave Havill the winning hand for an inside straight. Havill is currently up to approximately 40,000, while Pack has been knocked down to a still healthy 60,000.

No More Luck for Marohn

Livello 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Robert Omara raised under the gun and it folded around to Christopher Marohn in the big blind. Once again he decided to move all in, this time for 17,600 more. Omara deliberated for about a minute before calling with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. He was in a lot of trouble though up against the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Marohn.

Omara stood up as the dealer burned a card and he was the first to see the {A-Clubs} in the window and gave out a shout and a fist pump. The rest of the board was no help to Marohn, whose valiant effort to make a move as a short stack early in day 2 was cut short by a bad beat.

Omara is now up to 88,500 chips.

Chuck Thompson Sends One to the Rail

Livello 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Chuck Thompson moved all in from middle position and was called when another player pushed his entire stack in from the big blind. Thompson turned up the {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

"You've got me beat" said Thompson's opponent as he tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Thompson's pair of kings was enough to knock one more player out of the field. Thompson is now sitting with approx. 39,600
