Alexander Wice Eliminated in 9th Place ($34,473)

Alexander Wice - 9th Place
Alexander Wice - 9th Place

Jeffrey Papola is now back up past the one-million chip mark again after eliminating Alexander Wice in ninth place.

The action folded to Wice who made a raise from the button; Papola quickly reraised from the big blind, Wice snap-shoved and Papola insta-called, tabling {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but was miles behind Wice's {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

Papola found the gut-shot straight draw on the flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, but Wice kept his lead when the {3-Clubs} blanked on the turn. However, Papola is keeping his Six-Max King moniker alive for a little while longer, as he spiked the {8-Hearts} on the river!

Wice picks up $34,473 for his efforts.

A Little Less Conversation, Even Less Action

Livello 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The eight remaining players in this year's $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event have been playing small-ball since we've returned for this pre-dinner session, but we've managed to pick up a few flops here and there for you.

However, Anthony Spinella has picked up a couple of pots early on over at table 279. Earlier, Spinella made a button raise to 46,000 preflop and David Vamplew called to go heads-up to a flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, only to check-fold after Spinella's bet of 75,000.

In the next hand, Spinella raised to 41,000 from the cutoff; this time, Geffrey Klein called out of the big blind, but he also check-folded after Spinella's bet of 70,000 after the flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}.

We then picked up the same scenario next door on table 280, with George Jalkotzy raising to 43,000 from the cutoff before Jeffrey Papola calling out of the big blind to see a flop of {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, before Papola check-folded to Jalkotzy's bet of 50,000.

With only one elimination to go until the final table, small wonder then that the players are now playing small ball.

Colin Pays Off Blumenthal

Livello 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Bryan Colin check-called a bet of 52,000 on the flop of {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} from Eddie Blumenthal. The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and Colin checked again. Blumenthal checked behind this time to see the {Q-Spades} pair the board on the river. It also brought in a spade flush draw. After Colin checked, Blumenthal began reaching for chips. He bet 103,000 and Colin mulled it over. Eventually, Colin made the call.

Blumenthal tabled the {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for a spade flush after having turned top pair. Colin showed that he called Blumenthal with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Colin slipped to 600,000 while Blumenthal increased to 1.53 million.
