Denis Gnidash Eliminated in 12th Place ($19,953)

Livello 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Boy is Nicholas Rampone running hot. He has raised every time it has gotten to him preflop for two or three rounds, even if that means three betting.

That is why Denis Gnidash never really stood a chance in this hand. He raised from the cutoff to 26,000 and Rampone again three bet to 60,000. It folded back around to Gnidash who went all in for about 250,000 and Rampone immediately called.

Rampone: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Gnidash: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran a clean {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Gnidash's day is done. Rampone has now emerged with a 1.54 Million chip stack and is becoming not just the chip leader, but a dominant one at that. He already has twice the second stack and over a quarter of all the chips in play.

Action Flop

Livello 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Once again, Nicholas Rampone opened the action with a raise to 23,000. Justin Sternberg made the call from the big blind and the two saw a flop heads up.

{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} was checked by Sternberg and Rampone fired out 35,000. "Lets make it $135,000," Sternberg said to no one in particular. After a minute or two, Rampone moved Sternberg all in and he called. They shared the same hand, {5-}{4-} for two pair and chopped the pot.

After the hand the two gave each other playful grief for playing a hand such as Five-Four. All fun and games when you're playing for over $350,000 and a bracelet.

Seven More Hands

Livello 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The ten minute mark has been reached and the tournament director has drawn cards. He announced that seven more hands will be played before the remaining players bag and tag their chips.

Day 2 Closes With Ten to Play Day 3

Day 2 of the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Triple Chance ended with ten players moving on to Day 3 from 156 that started the day. Nicholas Rampone leads the way with 1.5 million, followed by Anders Meli and Bill Chen.

Moving on to Day 3 are Andrea Dato, David Diaz and Steve Watts. Players were busting quickly near the end of play making it possible to begin Day 3 close to the final table. When there were two levels left in the night the field still had 27 players.

Not surviving the day were J.C. Tran, Cliff Josephy, Andy Black, Carlos Mortensen, Ted Forrest and Andy Frankenberger.

Jerry Wong busted on the bubble in a particularly brutal fashion. He picked up pocket aces and ran into Justin Chan’s {K-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. Chan caught a king on the flop and paired his queen on the turn sending Chan home.

Play resumes at 2:30 p.m. PST and we’ll crown a winner. Be sure follow all the action on PokerNews.com.
