One Three-Handed Table Remains

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jon Spinks (4th in the $1,500 Stud Event) and Robin Rightmire (3rd in the $1,500 2-7 Single Draw) make up two of the three players still on table 42 in the shootout. All other tables have either been completed or are now heads up.

Brenes Gets Unlucky, Eliminated

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

After a near four hour heads up battle, Humberto Brenes has been eliminated by Allen Puzantyan. We missed the hand, but Puzantyan was kind enough to tell us what happened on the final hand. He said that the two players got all the money in on a {4-}{6-}{k-} board with two diamonds. Brenes had {6-}{4-} for two pair, and Puzantyan had {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw. Puzantyan never got his flush, but the turn and river did come {a-}{5-} to give him a better two pair and the win.

Jarvis Runs Bad

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Matt Jarvis' bad luck was brought out in a traditional poker gesture of frustration - the chair knock. Jarvis had his opponent all in when he held {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} against her {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} on a {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board, the {5-Diamonds} changed nothing but the {K-Diamonds} gave his opponent top set to double through Jarvis and cripple the latter.

Le Finaly Puts Opponent Away

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Nam Le spent about the last hour and a half with a 3-to-1 chip lead over his opponent, but was never able to put the finishing touches on it until now. After his opponent limp, Le went all in, and his opponent called.

Le: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to give Le the win and a ticket to tomorrow. Also advancing to tomorrow is Sam Stein.

Ebanks Advances

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Joseph Ebanks, the 22nd place finisher in Event #10, the $1,500 NLHE Six-Handed tournament, just knocked out the last remaining player at his table to secure his spot in round two.

In a bit of drama, after he won the hand he was so excited that he left the room before the tournament director could come over to the table to get his paperwork processed for round two. A quick search to locate Ebanks commenced but he soon wandered back into the room shaking his head and smiling.

Twelve Tables Remain

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

We have 12 tables remaining, 11 are HU and one (featuring Jon Spinks and Robin Rightmire) is still three-handed.

"Kill me now," said Spinks, only half joking.

Graham Advances

Livello 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

After a grueling five-hour heads up match, John Graham is moving on to round two. On the last hand he smooth called on the button with aces and his opponent shoved all in. Graham obviously called and his aces held to secure his win.
