Day 2 of the $3,000 Limit Hold’em event at the 2011 World Series of Poker began with the remaining 163 players of a 337-player field, all looking to claim their share of a $920,010 prize pool. Once the nasty business of the money bubble was taken care of at 36 players, the rest of the field turned their attention to the final table. Unfortunately, we didn’t quite get there as 18 survived the day. Leading the way into Day 3 is Shawn Keller, who bagged up 520,000 in chips.

Day 2 saw some big names hit the rail. Chad Brown, Barry Greenstein, David Chui, Justin Bonomo, Dwyte Pilgrim, and last year’s champ, Eric Buchman, all made their exits early. Some others who were felled just shy of the money included Josh “JJProdigy” Field, Ronnie Bardah, and Richard “nutsinho” Lyndaker.

Those who managed to sneak into the money included: David “ODB” Baker (36th- $5,612), Marco Traniello (34th- $5,612), Jesse Martin (24th- $7,019), and Shawn Buchanan (20th- $7,019). Still in contention are Sorel Mizzi (85,000), Alex Keating (81,500), Jeff Shulman (197,000), and Team PokerStars Pro (USA) Victor Ramdin (287,000).
