Get it In There, Boys

Livello 13 : 1,200/2,400, 600 ante

When we walked up to the table, Tom Schneider was all in for about 5,000, John Monnette was all in for 38,400, and Josh Brikis had put enough chips in the pot to cover both shoves. Monnette stood pat while the other two men pulled one card apiece.

Monnette: {10-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}
Brikis: {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-}{X-}
Schneider: {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{X-}

Brikis ripped his draw card over like a Band-Aid -- an {A-}. Schneider managed to peel a {4-}, and that's good enough to give him the triple up, back around 20,000. Monnette doubles through Brikis, and he's up over 70,000 now. Brikis is forced to pay off both opponents, sliding to about 80,000 or so.

Sung Rising

We missed the predraw action, but Takashi Ogura was all in against Steve Sung.

Sung was first to act and he stood pat, sending Ogura into the tank for a good minute before ultimately deciding to stand pat, too.

Sung tabled {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, well ahead of Ogura's {10-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, to score the knockout.

He Plays Draw Games, Too

Livello 13 : 1,200/2,400, 600 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Hasan Habib opened to 6,100 in the cutoff seat, and Phil Hellmuth made the call in position. In the small blind, Alex Balandin squeezed all in for 22,100 more. Habib ducked out, but Hellmuth made the call to put Balandin at risk.

The two men each drew one card.

Balandin: {9-}{8-}{7-}{4-}
Hellmuth: {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}

Balandin pulled an unfortunate {7-} off the deck, and Hellmuth only had to avoid pairing his eight to notch the knockout. He drew a {10-}, and his ten-eight gives him the pot.

That ones vaults Hellmuth to the top of the counts with an impressive 280,000 chips.

Cantu Can't Handle Hellmuth Part II

Livello 13 : 1,200/2,400, 600 ante

Phil Hellmuth and Brandon Cantu seem to enjoy entering pots with each other as of late. This time we caught Phil Hellmuth taking one card, showing the {K-Diamonds} to Cantu as he mucked it. Cantu also drew one card.

Hellmuth tossed out a bet of 8,000 and Cantu raised it to 30,000. Hellmuth instantly announced "I call" and Cantu tossed his cards into the muck. Hellmuth tabled {9-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and scooped a pot bringing him up to about 220,000.

No Harman Tryin'

Livello 13 : 1,200/2,400, 600 ante

Jen Harman was under the gun, and Peter Gould was on the button, and they got it all in. We missed how the action went, only walking up as Gould slid his last 45,200 forward. He stood pat while Harman drew one card.

Gould: {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}
Harman: {7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}... {A-Hearts}

Harman spun the ace around in her hand and mumbled something to her neighbor before gathering them under and dropping them in the muck. She paid her debt to drop to 32,000, doubling Gould up over 90,000.

Cantu Can't Handle Hellmuth

From under the gun, Phil Hellmuth raised to 7,000. Brandon Cantu decided to make it 19,000 total from middle position and the action folded back around to Hellmuth who made the call. Hellmuth stood pat while Cantu drew one card. The action went check-check and Hellmuth tabled his {J-}{10-}{9-}{4-}{2-}, causing Cantu to send his cards into the muck.

One for Ogura

Livello 13 : 1,200/2,400, 600 ante

Takashi Ogura made it 6,500 to go and was called by Vincent Musso. Each player drew one card and then the action went check-check.

Ogura flipped over {J-}{10-}{7-}{6-}{5-} and Musso tossed his hand into the muck. Winning this pot brings Ogura's stack up to 65,000.
