Lew Lost

Facing a raise from early position Randy Lew vied for going all in instead of simply calling. His opponent instantly called, and both cards were flipped. Lew held {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and was dominated as his opponent had {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

The dealer flipped the cards and everyone saw a board of {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-}{2-}{Q-}. Both players had a pair of aces, but Lew's kicker wasn't enough and he was eliminated.

Nguyen Wins Baby

After a player in early position raised to 300 Scotty Nguyen reraised to 1,300. A third player then moved all in for 3650, Nguyen was the only one to make the call. Seeing as Scotty had less than his opponent he was the one at risk.

Nguyen held {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and his opponent has {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Things were looking bad for Scotty on a board of {6-}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}, but the river was all Nguyen needed as a {K-Spades} rolled off. Scotty Nguyen doubled up and is around average stack.

Kara Scott Under the Gun

Livello 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

From under the gun the lovely Kara Scott opened to 375. Action folded all the way around to the player on the button who made the call. The flop fell {4-Spades} {7-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} and Scott bet 700 and the button raised to 1,600. After some thought Scott popped it 2,500 more. The player on the button took some time to think as the field filed out for break.

The button folded and Scott is up to 10,800.

A Weird Situation

Over on table six, Mario Ho raised from early position and the action folded to a player in middle position who reraised. The player in the cutoff moved all in and Ho announced her intent to call, tabling {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. The only problem was that the player in middle position still had chips behind, which Ho was unable to see from where she was sitting.

The others quickly alerted her to it and she turned her cards back down. However, the middle position player protested, demanding to see her cards.

"It's okay, dealer, call the floor - I know what the ruling is," Ho said. Upon his arrival, the floorman determined that the player in the hand was allowed to see what Ho had.

"Really, are you 100% sure of that?" Ho asked.

"100%," was the abrupt reply.

"Wow, this is the weirdest thing ever," Ho muttered as the dealer spread the flop of {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}. Both Ho and the middle position player checked, then Ho bet 1,000 on the turn of the {J-Spades}. The middle position player called, then after Ho checked the river of the {9-Clubs}, he shoved all in.

"Wow - you call the turn, then move all in on the river," Ho sighed, before tossing her hand into the muck. The middle position player tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for the king-high straight, much to the disgust of the cutoff, who slammed down {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} before departing the Pavilion room.

Scotty Not Paying Attention and Winning

After a player in early position moved all in for 2,200, Scotty Nguyen tried to raise to 800. Apparently Scotty wasn't paying attention and had no idea someone had moved in. Nguyen apologized to the table, and made the call.

Cards were turned over and Nguyen was in bad shape as his {Q-}{8-} was dominated by his opponent's {Q-}{10-}. Nguyen received good news on the flop as the cards read {8-}{A-}{A-}, the turn was also good to Nguyen as another {8-} rolled off. The river was a meaningless {6-} and Nguyen eliminated another opponent.

Nguyen continued to apologize to his opponent after the hand. It was nice to note that both players shook hands and left each other on good terms.
