The chip leader heading into Day 2 is Ebrahim Mourshaki with 64,850. However, an impressive bunch is hot on his heels. Nikolay Evdakov is second with 64,850, and Brandon Cantu is third with 43,700. Last year's winner, Sigurd Eskeland, is also still in the hunt with 18,150.

Play kicks off at 3.p.m local time, which is about 10 minutes from now. Be sure to keep it here at PokerNews throughout the day for all of the action as it unfolds.

Micon Moves On

Livello 9

Omaha 8/b

We picked up the action on the flop as the dealer spread out {5-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts}. Valentino Morella appeared to be the preflop raiser, and he continued out with the first bet. Bruno Benveniste called next door, and Bryan Micon raised, putting his last 650 chips into the pot. The other two called the extra 50 chips, and Benveniste called another bet on the {10-Hearts} turn. It went check-check on the {10-Clubs} river.

Benveniste showed {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {3-Spades}, and that was good. Morella's {K-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} had been counterfeited on the river, and Micon's {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {7-Clubs} missed the draw.

Micon is out.

Kassela and Kessler Chop Opponent

Livello 9

Omaha 8/b

Frank Kassela made it two bets from under the gun, Brandon Sharckharris called in the cutoff, and Allen Kessler called out of the small blind. The flop came down {5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, and Kessler led out. Both of his opponents called, and the turn brought the {j-Clubs}. Kessler led again, Kassela raised, and both Sharckharris and Kessler called.

All three players checked the {a-Hearts} on the river.

Kessler: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} - High
Kassela: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} - Low
Sharckharris: Muck - Nothing

Potter Leaves on Seventh

Livello 9

Stud

Matthew Ashton brought it in with the {3-Clubs} up, and Jason Potter completed with the {K-Hearts}. A player in the middle called (he'd fold on fifth street), and Ashton called to proceed.

Ashton: (x-x) / {3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} / (x)
Potter: (x-x) / {K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Hearts} / (x)

The eventual folder bet fourth street with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} showing, and Ashton and Potter called in turn. On fifth street, Ashton was the first bettor, and his bet was promptly raised by Potter, forcing the third player out of the hand. Ashton reraised, though, and Potter called. Potter called another bet on sixth street, and Ashton fired right back out on seventh.

Potter went into the tank for a long while, shaking his head and furrowing his brow as he contemplated. After several more shakes of the head and forlorn glares down at the cards, Potter tucked them under and folded.

He's down to about 18,000 now.

Richey Peaces Out

Livello 9

Razz

Brett Richey got his last bet in on fourth street with {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} showing. Fabrice Soulier put him at risk, and the hands went like this:

Richey: [{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}) / {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} / {x-}
Soulier: ({8-Spades}{6-Spades}) / {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} / {4-Diamonds}

Richey was drawing dead on sixth street, and opted to leave rather than sweat his last card. Soulier was shipped the pot, and is now about 25,000 chips.

Leah Razzed

Livello 9

Razz

We watched Mike Leah get crippled in a Razz hand where he made two pair on seventh to double up a short-stacked opponent. It left him with just 175 chips, but he quintupled up on the following hand, back into contention. He worked it up to 1,300 the last time we walked past.

He's out of contention again. With a deuce showing, Leah completed, and Jimmy Fricke raised with a {6-} up. Jonathan Green called with a deuce, and Leah reraised all in for 1,300. Fricke and Green called with live action between them.

Leah: (x-x) / {2-}{6-}{k-}{10-} / (x)
Fricke: (x-x) / {6-}{q-}{7-}{4-} / (x)
Green: (x-x) / {2-}{4-}{8-}{4-} / (MUCK)

Green bet fourth and fifth streets with Fricke calling along, and Fricke took the lead with a bet of his own on sixth. Green folded, and Leah got to see what he was up against. The news wasn't good as Fricke tabled {2x5x} for the made seventy-six. Leah's {AxJx} was drawing dead, and he's been eliminated here near the end of the first level.

Fricke is up to 37,000 as he stacks those chips.

Woo Chopped by Deeb and Zaichenko

Livello 9

Stud 8/b

Lou Hensley: ({x-}{x-}) / {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} FOLDED
Shaun Deeb: ({x-}{x-}) / {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} / ({x-})
David Woo: ({x-}{x-}) / {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / ({x-})
Andrey Zaichenko: ({x-}{x-}) / {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} / ({x-})

We caught up with the action on fourth street, where it checked to Deeb who tossed out a bet. His three opponents called. The same action occurred on fifth street, except Hensley bowed out. Woo and Zaichenko called one more bet on sixth, all three players checked on seventh, and the hands were opened.

Deeb: {k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} - Low
Zaichenko: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} - High
Woo: Mucked - Nada
