Moorman Takes A Big One Post Dinner Break

Chris Moorman stacks chips after winning a big pot.
Chris Moorman stacks chips after winning a big pot.

On one of the first hands back from dinner break, Chris Moorman took a big pot off of Dan O'Brien.

Moorman raised to 55,000 from the cutoff and Dan O'Brien re-raised to 148,000 from the small blind and Moorman called.

The flop came out {j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and O'Brien bet out 162,000. Moorman in his methodical, slow method counted out his chips and called.

The turn was {10-Diamonds} and O'Brien bet out 258,000 with Moorman again calling.

The river came the {k-Diamonds} to put four diamonds on the board and O'Brien checked to Moorman who moved all in. O'Brien said, "I think I had you the whole way but that's as ugly as a board can get" and tossed his hand in the muck.

O'Brien fell to just above 1,000,000 after the hand and Moorman is up to nearly 2,000,000.

Will Failla
Will Failla

Will "The Thrill" Failla moved all in on the button for 478,000 and Chris Moorman in the small blind made the call.

Moorman: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Failla: {A-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Failla called for the {a-Clubs} the entire time the board was being dealt, but it came down {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Failla had no such luck as he hit the rail in seventh place. His elimination has set our official final table of six.

Moorman moves back up over 1,000,000 after the hand.

One Outer? No Problem

Anthony Ruberto shrugs off the bad beat by the one outer.
Anthony Ruberto shrugs off the bad beat by the one outer.

In what was undoubtedly the biggest pot of the tournament and one of the sickest beats you can witness, Oleksii Kovalchuk has doubled up off of Anthony Ruberto.

Preflop, Ruberto raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Kovalchuk re-raised to 135,000 from the small blind and Ruberto made the call.

The flop came down {4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Kovalchuk led out for 150,000. Ruberto smoothly counted out his chips and put in a re-raise to 375,000. Kovalchuk then pushed out a stack of greens to make it 525,000 and Ruberto just called.

The turn was a {10-Spades} and Kovalchuk moved all in for 1,386,000 and Ruberto insta-called turning over {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a set of jacks and Kovalchuk was way behind with {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a lower set and drawing to only the case {4-Hearts}.

Well... that case {4-Hearts} hit the river and the entire Amazon Room erupted in disbelief. After hitting the one outer, Kovalchuk doubled to just about 4,200,000 and Ruberto, who was our chip leader coming into the day and who had maintained that for the majority of Day 3, fell to just 550,000.
