Serock Takes a Hit

Rafal Lubczynski opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and Joe Serock made it 6,500 to go from the small blind. Lubczynski four-bet to 12,000 and Serock shoved. Lubczynski called and tabled {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} and Serock held {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}.

Serock had hope when the {A-Spades} was in the window but the board ran {8-Hearts} {K-Spades} {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} giving Lubczynski a set of kings. Lubczynski had 55,400 behind which took a big chunk of Serock's stack.

Moorman = Chip Leader

Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

As the table with Jean-Robert Bellande, Sorel Mizzi, and Chris Moorman was about to break, one more hand went down.

Jean-Robert opened for 2,800 and Ricky Fohrenbach re-raised it up to 7,600 from the button. Moorman then made it 19,600 from the small blind. Jean-Robert tanked then folded, Fohrenbach re-raised to 34,000, Moorman shoved and Fohrenbach called.

Moorman had {a-}{a-} to Fohrenbach's {k-}{k-}. Fohrenbach's standing was not improved by the board, and Moorman took down the enormous pot to become our chip leader and first player over 300,000. He is known for his reckless aggression, so with the biggest stack in the room in front of him, he'll be a very dangerous player.

Big Showdown with Money Bubble Looming

Livello 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Andrew Cradock and Benjamin Pollak had a huge preflop all in confrontation. Cradock held {A-} {K-} and Pollak held {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}. The board ran {7-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {2-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Pollak's aces held.

The stacks were counted and Pollak was left with only 500 remaining, which can cover two hands' worth of antes. With the money bubble about to pop it doesn't look good for Cradock.

We're In the Money!

Livello 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The money bubble just burst and our unlucky bubble boy was Paul Dewald.

As hand for hand play was going on, Dewald and Eric Hettinga ended up all in preflop.

Dewald: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Hettinga: {Q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Hettinga doubled to 107,000 while Dewald was left with 1,800 in chips.

On the next hand, Dewald put his tournament life at risk with the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and was up against Melanie Weisner's {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Dewald was eliminated from the tournament just short of making the money.

With a number of short stacks who snuck through the bubble, we expect to see a lot more action during this level.

Hoang Knocks One Out

Livello 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A flurry of bustouts have happened since the money bubble burst. The shortstacks are wasting no time getting it in and collecting some cash if the lose. Ludovic Riehl moved all in from the big blind for 14,600 and John Hoang called from the button.

Showdown:
Hoang: {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs}
Riehl: {A-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}

The board ran {Q-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {4-Spades} {6-Spades} and Riehl busted. Hoang is up to 176,000.

@BrokeLivingJRB No Longer Broke

Jean-Robert Bellande
Jean-Robert Bellande

We are in the money and the prolific Jean-Robert Bellande is still doing quite well in our constantly thinning field.

We came into this hand with about 30,000 already in the pot and a bet of 10,000 put out by Jean-Robert from the button on a board of {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The late position player in the hand made the call.

The river was the {8-Hearts}, and the late position player checked to Jean-Robert who bet 32,000. The player ended up calling and JRB showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker.

He took down the pot and moved up to 165,000. After the hand Bellande turned to Sorel Mizzi who is sitting to his left and said, "Man, how about that bet sizing right? It was the perfect amount."

Bellande is on his game today and still sitting towards the top of our chip counts.

Tuan Le Binks a Boat

Livello 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tuan Le raised raised from middle position to 3,300 and was called by both Shane Schleger from the small blind and the player in the big blind.

The flop came {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs} and both blinds checked to Le who bet 3,800. Schleger folded and the big blind called. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Le who bet 14,000. The big blind then raised all in and Le called.

Le: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

While Le had flopped a set of fours, the big blind had flopped a straight and Le would need the board to pair to win the hand. Lo and behold, the {10-Diamonds} fell on the river filling Le's boat and giving him the win.

Le now has a much healthier stack of 105,000.
