The Dragon Slain

David Pham
David Pham

David "The Dragon" Pham was all in on the turn with the board reading {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for his last 17,400 with the {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. His opponent called with the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The river completed the board with the {A-Spades} and that was the end of the line for Pham.

A Friendly Game of Poker

When we got to Table 366 we found Ralph Robinson putting out a bet of 3,500 preflop. Brent Hanks was wiling to cough up the dough and both of them got to see a flop.

On a {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts} board Robinson again bet out this time making it 7,400, and Hanks smooth called. On a {J-Clubs} turn Robinson checked and let Hanks take control of the hand, or so he thought. After Hanks put out a 8,000 chip bet, Robinson immediately went all in.

Hanks was in a pickle and clearly wanted to make the call. Hanks started asking questions to Robinson about what he should do. They continued to off handily chat while the hand went on and eventually Hanks asked if he could see Robinson's cards if he folded. Robinson said yes and Hanks folded.

True to his word Robinson showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, Hanks thanked him and claimed he had an {8-}.

Hanks was left with around 20,000 in chips after the hand, but as we were writing this post we noticed he busted from the tournament.

Victorious Vinson

Benjamin Vinson
Benjamin Vinson

Action started on the button as no one else seemed to want to play, and he raised it to 2,700. Benjamin Vinson in the small blind reraised and made it 5,600. After the big blind folded it was back on the button who moved all in for around 37,000. Vinson made the call and the table got to see the cards.

Vinson: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Button: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}

{J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} all made an appearance on the flop and it was Vinson's pair of nines that were ahead against his opponent's pair of fives. A {4-Clubs} put out any hopes of a run run flush draw for Vinson's opponent, and a river {10-Diamonds} sealed the deal as Vinson knocked out a player.

Frankenberger's Stack Grows

Michael Wojcieszek raised from early position to 2,600 and was called by Andy Frankenberger from the button. The two players saw a flop of {5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Wojcieszek checked to Frankenberger, who led out for 3,300. Wojcieszek made the call and the turn came {3-Diamonds}. The action checked around to see a river of {10-Clubs}. It went check-check once again.

"Pair. Four." said Wojcieszek, tabling {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Frankenberger flipped up {K-Spades}{9-Spades} for a pair of kings, and was able to scoop the pot.

"You bet on the turn and I was going to check raise you", Wojcieszek said.

"Guess it was a bad check, then." replied Frankenberger as he stacked his chips.

Kabrhel is Killing It

Livello 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A player opened the action for 2,500 preflop only to find Martin Kabrhel make it 4,900 to go from the cutoff. Action folded back around and Kabrhel made the call.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Kabrhel's opponent moved his stack all in for 13,500 more. Kabrhel quickly made the call, flipping up {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, which was far ahead of his opponent's {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The turn came {6-Diamonds}, filling up Kabrhel, and the {3-Hearts} on the river blanked for his opponent.

Kabrhel was able to scoop yet another pot, bringing his castle of chips up to around 185,000.

Romine Regressing

After raising preflop to around 3,500 Romine received one caller, the big blind. On a {9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} board Romine bet out 5,000. He was quickly reraised as the big blind moved all in for 25,000 more. Romine thought about it for awhile even grabbing the right amount of chips putting them back and doing it again. He looked like he really wanted to make the call, but in the end his cards made their way into the muck.
