Griffin's Good

Livello 7

Limit Hold'em

We picked up a three-way flop as the dealer spread out {Q-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. Ashton Griffin put out the first bet, and unknown player called, and Prince Gaspard came along as well. The action repeated just like that after the {5-Clubs} turn, and the river {8-Spades} checked all the way around. Griffin showed just {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, and his high card was good. The other two mucked in turn, and that pot moves Griffin up to 14,000.

Bellande or Brunette?

Livello 7

2-7 Single Draw

An unknown player opened to 600 from early position, and Jean-Robert Bellande three-bet to 1,800 from the cutoff seat. The button called, Daniel Makowsky called from the big blind, and the initial raiser folded to let them draw three-handed. Bellande patted while the other two took one card apiece. The table checked to the player in position, and he fired 5,400 at the pot. That folded the Makowsky in the middle, but Bellande was not folding. He took his time squirming in his chair, then said something like, "I feel like I'm slowrolling, because I'm definitely calling." After another squirm or two, he made the call, and his opponent made a motion to muck.

Bellande showed his {9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}, and it was easily good. The other player indicated he'd been drawing to a seven perfect, but the pot goes to Bellande, pushing him up to 43,000.

Hachem Hits a Hand

Livello 7

2-7 Triple Draw

Joe Hachem raised, and he found action from three players. Only one of them ended up making it to showdown with Hachem, the other two ducking out after the second and third draws, respectively. So we'll focus on the two active players, Hachem and Mr. Opponent.

Hachem took two cards on the first draw, and his opponent took just one. Hachem's bet was called (all the way around), and he bet again after standing pat on the second round. His opponent took one card again and called, and both men patted on the last draw. The betting action was the same with Hachem getting in one more bet.

He showed {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, and the seventy-six was good for the pot. It's a pretty big one, and it moves Hachem up to 19,000.

It's Good For the Game

Livello 7

Limit Hold'em

Michael Mizrachi raised from the button, and the big blind came along with him to the flop. The board ended up coming {J-Spades} {7-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}, and the big blind check-called bets after the flop and turn. On the river, he checked one last time, and he could not call Mizrachi's final bet. When he folded, though, Mizrachi flipped up the {4-Clubs} {5-Spades} airball.

It was good enough to drag the pot, and it moves the Grinder up to 21,000.

No Sugar Tonight

Livello 7

Al "Sugar Bear" Barbieri spent the break near our table lamenting his awful last couple levels. He was down under 5,000 at the break, and he got even lower than that before he found a double. It was in 2-7 triple draw, and Barbieri chased down an {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} to double through an opponent with {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

That pot only pulled Sugar Bear back to 3,500 though, and it wasn't long before those were gone. According to Barbieri, he patted after the second draw, and the player who busted him drew two to make a seventy-six. We'll take his word for it; Barbieri vanished through the doors before we had a chance to ask a follow-up.

Adams Moves Up

Livello 7

2-7 Triple Draw

The player under the gun opened with a raise, and Brandon Adams called from the button. He took two-two-one on the three drawing rounds while the raiser drew one card each time. After the first, Adams called another bet, and both men checked the next round. After the final draw, Adams decided to make a bet of his own, and his opponent check-folded.

Adams climbed to 12,000 with that little pot.
