Rep Porter (during Event #26): probably the coolest name in the world, according to us media folk!

2-7 Triple Draw

The action folded to Michael Mizrachi who raised from the cutoff, only to see Rep Porter reraise from the button. Both blinds got out of the way and Mizrachi called, making it heads-up to the first draw, where both players took two cards.

Mizrachi check-called Porter's opening bet, then did the same after drawing another two cards, while Porter drew one. On the third and final draw, both players took one and this time, Mizrachi led out. Porter called, revealing {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and Mizrachi mucked.

Porter is now up to 50,500 in chips while Mizrachi is struggling with just 6,500.

Break it Up

Livello 11

We've just broken another table, and the number on the big board has ticked down to 96 players remaining. One of these players will be the first-ever ten-game champion at the WSOP.

No Look Necessary For Sarkeshik

Livello 11

Badugi

Ali Sarkeshik opened with a raise from the button, and both the small blind and Cyndy Violette (big blind) came along with him.

Everyone took one card, and Sarkeshik made a quiet comment that drew a chuckle from the table. He bet, and both blinds check-called. On the second round, everyone took one more card, and Sarkeshik bet it again. The small blind folded to the big bet this time, but Violette called to see the last draw. They each took one card again, and Violette checked it. Sarkeshik didn't appear to look at his card before he bet, and he added, "If I look, I might not bet."

Violette couldn't call anyways. "You got it," she said, sending her cards into the muck and dropping to 12,000.

Wood's Good

Omaha 8/B

From under the gun, an opponent raised and the action folded around to "Miami" John Cernuto who called from the button, as did the small and Matthew Wood from the big blind to go four-handed to a flop that read {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Spades}. The small blind checked, Wood bet and the UTG player folded before Cernuto called.

The small blind also folded, making it heads-up to the turn, which was the {4-Hearts}. Both Wood and Cernuto checked their option after the turn as well as on the river of the {7-Hearts} before the cards were tabled. Cernuto showed {A-}{K-}{J-}{6-} for two pair, but Wood had made a bigger two pair with {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a bigger two pair to scoop the pot.

Greg Raymer - out
Greg Raymer - out

Greg Raymer came into the day with a chip stack well above average, but this second day did not go as well as the first. Raymer slid slowly down the chip counts page, and now it appears he's out. Raymer is busy signing his fossil with a pair of Sharpies, and he has no chips left in front of him.

Raymer, like the rock he's holding, has been fossilized.

Berman Building Back Up

Pot Limit Omaha

The action folded around to the player in the hijack position who raised to 1,400 before the flop; Lyle Berman called out of the cutoff, as did the player in the small blind to go three ways to a flop that read {4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. All three players checked the flop, as well as the turn of the {4-Clubs} before the dealer peeled off the {3-Spades} on the river.

The small blind checked and the hijack led out for 2,400, but Berman called before the small blind got out of the way. Berman showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for the straight and the hijack threw his hand into the muck.

Powell's Got the Power

2-7 No Limit

The action folded to Steve Zolotow who raised to 1,500 from the cutoff; he found one caller in Brian Powell from the big blind, so they went heads-up to the draw, where each player took one card. Powell checked to Zolotow who bet 2,400, but not to be deterred, Powell called, tabling {j-}{10-}{7-}{6-}{4-}. Zolotow mucked his hand.

No More Matusow

Livello 11

2-7 No Limit

Earlier over on table 296, we overheard a conversation between Mike "The Mouth" Matusow and Australia's Tim Marsters.

"It's so frustrating," Matusow said, "I've been here for so long and haven't cashed in one event I've played."

"I know," Marsters replied. "This is like my second or third Day 2 and I haven't made the money once."

As it turns out, Marsters is continuing his run in this event having just busted Matusow only moments ago. As Marsters recalled to us, Matusow moved all-in for his last 1,450 with a perfect draw, but he drew a king and was unable to beat Marsters' {Q-}{10-}{9-}{x-}{x-}.
