Lellouche in Dyer Straits

Livello 2 : 50/75, 0 ante

After a bet of 50 and two calls on a flop of {10-Clubs}{A-Spades}{5-Clubs} French pro Anthony Lellouche check-raised to 100 with everyone making the call to see the {9-Diamonds} turn. Lellouche bet 100 and again everyone called to see the {4-Hearts} river, Greg Dyer now led out from the small blind for 100, the big blind folded as did Lellouche with a sigh.

The button made the call and Dyer quickly declared, "Wheel" turning over {8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} which scooped the pot.

It's Life Jim, But Not As We Know It

Livello 2 : 50/75, 0 ante

Three players limped preflop and Jim Callopy raised on the button to 100, the initial limper then made it three bets, the second limper folded and the third limper called.

Callopy, who took second place in the Heads-up Event at the WSOPE to Gus Hansen, made it four bets and both the other players called to see a flop of {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. The initial limper fired out 50 once more and the second player called before Callopy raised yet again. Both players called once more to see the {J-Hearts} turn which was checked around.

The river was the {5-Spades} and the first limper bet 100, despite the good odds for the other two, both folded, Callopy with a slight sigh.

On the far side of the room (that sounds like a crap Pink Floyd album) Daniel Negreanu has sat down on a table including Frenchman Fabrice Soulier and Alex Wice, the latter having finished in 3rd place at the EPT event in Deauville in January.

A little further on and there is a table featuring Dan Shak, Kevin MacPhee and Richard Toth all sitting in a row. MacPhee just chopping a pot when he bet 100 on the turn and river of a {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} board with {A-}{A-}{9-}{5-} against another player. The American was called but had to chop when his opponent turned over {A-}{A-}{Q-}{10-} for the same hand.

The Unsung Hero of Poker

Livello 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Quietly taking his place in the far corner of the Pavilion is the London-based Swede Chris Bjorin. He might not be so well known over here in the USA but Bjorin has two bracelets and a cashing record that goes back over 20 years, longer than some of the people he'll be playing against today. Last year at the WSOPE he made the final table of both the £5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event and the £2,500 Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em Event and now has over $4 million dollars in lifetime winnings.

Bjorin has played all the different games for many years, so it won't be a surprise to see him make yet another deep run in any of this year's 58 events.
