Greenstein and Seidel Chipping Down but Still Healthy

Livello 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

Barry Greenstein likely got rivered on a {3-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} board. His opponent held {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}. The river not only gave him the flush but also could have counterfeited a low. Barry mucked his hand but still sits with 20,300 chips.

On another table Erik Seidel lost with a virtually identical hand to his opponent on the river. Seidel had {A-}{A-}{9-}{5-} versus the {A-}{A-}{8-}{5-} of his opponent. The river put two eights on the board and quartered Seidel. He currently has about 6,700 chips.

Elezra Chips Up with Aggression

Livello 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

We caught the action on a flop of {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and 1500 already in the pot. The small blind checked, and Eli Elezra checked in the big blind. The cutoff bet 300, and after the big blind called, Elezra check raised to 600. Both players called. The turn was the {k-Diamonds}, and Elezra kept his foot on the gas, betting 600. Both players folded, and Elezra took the pot to up his stack to around 8,300

Alex Kravchenko Scoops

Livello 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

With Alex Kravchenko in the big blind, Mike Matusow raised from under the gun to 400 and got calls from a player in middle position and both blinds.

The flop came down {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Kravchenko led out when the small blind checked. Matusow and the small blind both called and the three players saw the {9-Hearts} turn. Kravchenko bet again and both players called.

The river paired the board again with the {4-Spades} which didn't slow down Kravchenko who bet a third time. Matusow thought for a long while, counting his chip stack a couple of times before folding. The small blind called and Kravchenko showed {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for trip nines with a king kicker which was good enough to scoop the pot.

After the hand Matusow seemed happy with his decision but is left as the short stack again with just 2600. Kravchenko has moved up to 12,600

Eslami Rivers Broadway and Shows

Livello 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

From middle position, Ali Eslami raised. One player called behind him and then action moved to Dan Shak on the button. Shak made the call and Richard Toth also called from the big blind to see the flop come down {J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. With four players in the pot, Toth checked to Eslami, the preflop raiser. He bet, the next player raised, Shak tank-folded, Toth folded and then Eslami called.

The {10-Spades} hit the felt on the turn and Eslami checked. His opponent checked behind.

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and Eslami bet. After about 30 seconds of thought, his opponent folded and Eslami was awarded the pot. He was kind enough to show his hand and revealed the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a rivered Broadway straight.

Eslami's back to 11,000 in chips now.

ElkY Stays Alive

Livello 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was all in when we got to the table and the board read {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. He was up against four other players. The first active player checked and the next one bet. Allie Prescott was up next and called before the fourth active player folded. Action fell back on the first player and he folded then the next player called.

The river card was the {2-Hearts} and the two remaining active players checked. First, the side pot was up for grabs. Prescott mucked after he saw his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for kings and sixes with an ace. Grospellier had that beat though and tabled the {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trip sixes and was able to win the main pot.

Grabbing the main pot allowed ElkY to stay alive and increase his stack back to 3,000, which is where he currently sits.

Negreanu 0 for 2

Livello 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

After a disappointing first round exit from the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship yesterday, Daniel Negreanu has now made his exit from the $1500 Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better event today.

After taking Tom Dwan's former seat, Negreanu nursed a short stack for quite a while before officially hitting the rail.

In his bust out hand, which he only started with 600, a player in the cutoff made it 400 getting calls from the small blind, big blind and Daniel in early position.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and it checked around to the button who bet 200. Daniel called for his remaining 200 as did the player in cutoff.

The turn came {J-Clubs} and went check check.

The river came {Q-Spades} and went check check again.

The player on the button flipped over {A-}{Q-} for a rivered two pair much to Negreanu's frustration as he announced, "Ahhh I thought I had a chance, I had {J-}{9-}."

Negreanu mucked, paid his masseuse, and left in good spirits.

Hellmuth Upset

Livello 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Under the gun, Phil Hellmuth raised to 400 and the player to his left made it three bets. A player in the cutoff, who has an enormous cooking hat on, flatted and Hellmuth called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Hellmuth bet, the player to his left called, the player in position made it two bets which allowed Hellmuth to make it three. This isolated the hand to the player with the cooking hat who called.

The turn came the {9-Clubs} and Hellmuth bet. His opponent called.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Hellmuth opted to check call this time. His opponent held {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a full house and Hellmuth started to rant. He showed down his {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and was notably frustrated by the hand.

After losing another, smaller, pot on the very next hand, he is down to about 7,400
