Eric Baldwin is down to his last 5,000 add on after losing a big three way all in at this table. When we came to the table, Baldwin had put in a raise to 1,000. The button made it 4,050 to go, and the big blind call. Baldwin then moved in for 7,000 total, and the other two got the rest of their chips in.

Baldwin: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Button: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Big Blind: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and the big blind not only hit quads, but hit three of his possible four outs. Baldwin just cashed in his last 5,000, and will be looking to get it back in a hurry.

Dwan Drops

On table 12, Brian Powell raised from under the gun and the cutoff folded before Tom Dwan called from the button. The small blind folded, but the big blind came along for the ride before all three players checked the flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

On the turn of the {4-Diamonds}, the big blind and Powell checked to Dwan who opened for 525. The big blind called, but Powell folded before the big blind and Dwan checked down the river of the {8-Hearts}. The big blind rolled up {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Dwan sent his hand into the muck.

Jarvis Gets A Little Back

2010 November Niner Matt Jarvis started the hand very low stacked, but made up some ground after winning this big pot.

We came in on the turn when the board read {4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} Jarvis checked and the button player bet 1,000. Jarvis tanked for at least three minutes before making the call. The river came {q-Hearts} and again Jarvis checked and the button bet 1,850. This time, Jarvis tanked again for a good time and eventually made the call and showed {10-}{8-} for the turned straight. The button player in the hand said he had a set but mucked his hand.

Jarvis is up to only 10,000 after the hand and still has a lot of ground to make up to get back into it.

ElkY's Leaking, Negreanu's Peaking

Livello 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

It's been a tough start WSOP Event #21 champion Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, who is now down to just 1,700 in chips with no lammers.

He's not finding any luck on his table either. After he raised to 200 from the cutoff in a previous hand, the opponent on the button re-raised to 500. The blinds got out of the way and Grospellier called before both players checked all the way down the board of {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

However, Grospellier scowled and threw his hand away even before the button had even tabled his cards. For the record, the player had made two pair with his {Q-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

In contrast, on nearby table 30, Daniel Negreanu is on more than 25,000 (including both his lammers), much to the delight of the railbirds who have flocked en masse to see him in action. The "Kid" has still got it!

Brown Busted

Chad Brown

This is PLO, which means the swings can be big. One man at the wrong end of things was Chad Brown, who has been eliminated from the tournament here in Level 2. We're not sure what happened, but we did grab a cryptic quote from someone who knew:

"He went out one bullet at a time," Jason Mercier said of his former table mate.

Binger Binks A Double

With the 5,000 rebuy chips in play, we were expecting to have plenty of action today, and Michael Binger and Barry Greenstein just provided us with some. There was 1,000 in the pot on a flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Binger bet out 950, forcing a folded from Steve Gross. Greenstein counted out a raise to 2,550, and Binger instantly moved all in. Greenstein called, and they flipped their cards over.

Binger: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Greenstein: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}

Binger's two pair had outflopped Greenstein's overpair of queens, but Greenstein picked up a flush draw on the {j-Spades} turn. However, the river came the {2-Diamonds}, and Binger doubled up to about 10,000 with both of his add-ons left.

Powell's All Smiles

You can never wipe the smile off Brian Powell's face and it seems that his pleasant demeanor is quickly winning him friends on table 12, as they're laughing and joking with each pot that they play.

Still, that doesn't mean that Powell is no slouch, having just picked up a pot against an opponent. On a flop that read {5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, a player in early position led out to Powell who called from the button before check-calling Powell's bet of 650 on the turn of the {3-Diamonds}.

The opponent then checked again on the river of the {2-Spades} and Powell led out for 1,650. This time, the opponent folded, but when Powell put his hand into the muck, they fell sideways and hit the table, flipping two of the cards -- {J-}{10-} -- face-up.

The players all had a bit of a chuckle after that. We're not quite sure as to what the joke was, but we're certain that the atmosphere was made a little lighter after the acid-tongued Daniel Makowsky was busted by Dwan from their table earlier in the day.

Kassela Doubles with a Full House

Frank Kassela raised under the gun to 275 and received calls from the player in the cutoff and in the big blind. It was three-handed to the {9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} flop, which inspired Kassela to bet 600 after the big blind had checked. The cutoff got out of the way, the big blind made the call, and the {9-Spades} hit the turn.

The big blind check-called a 2,000 from Kassela, leading to the {2-Spades} on the river. Once again the big blind checked, Kassela moved all in for 1,075, and the big blind called. "Full house," Kassela said as he flipped {J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The big blind took his time before tossing his cards in the muck.

Kassela's double couldn't have come at a better time considering he has used his two rebuy chips. That means he is sitting on a stack of 8,200 with no rebuy options available.
