Day 3 of the $2,500 PLH/PLO event is underway. The cards are in the air and the march to a winner begins. The plan for the day is to either play down to a winner or 10 levels, whichever may come first.

Well, the first elimination of the day came just minutes into Level 19. It happened when Jens Hansen got his short-stack all in preflop holding and was up against the of [Removed:326]. Hansen was already standing when we made our way to the table, no doubt in reaction to the flop.
[Removed:327] had flopped a set to put Hansen in a bad way. The turn left Hansen drawing dead, but just as well the was put out on the river for good measure. Hansen was eliminated in 22nd place and will take home $9,223 for his efforts.

Claudio Rinaldi, one of the short stacks coming into Day 3, got his chips in the middle preflop and was squaring off against Cameron New.
Rinaldi:
New:
It was a bad spot for Rinaldi as he shared an ace with his opponent, but with an inferior kicker. The flop hit New and essentially sealed Rinaldi's fate. The turn gave Rinaldi a gut-shot straight draw to a queen, but the river was not it. Rinaldi was eliminated from the tournament in 21st place, worth a $9,223 payday.

On a flop of , a short-stacked Nathan Wade led out by moving all in for his last 41,000. Cameron New made the call from the big blind and Wade was in trouble.

Wade:
Wade had flopped top pair with top kicker, but it was still behind the pocket kings and flush draw of New. The turn brought Wade one step closer to elimination, but the river gave him a straight and the win. New was clearly frustrated by the river as he went to his supporters on the rail for consolation.
