Boutin Gets Jacked

PLH

Burt Boutin raised to 325 and received three callers including James Carroll. The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Boutin bet 1,200. Carroll called while the other two players folded and they saw the {j-Diamonds} fall on the turn. Both players checked and saw the river bring the {2-Diamonds}.

Boutin checked the action to Carroll who bet 3,500. Boutin decided to call and showed his {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} but found his hand was second best to Carroll's {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Bansi Hits Early Double

PLO

Praz Bansi was all in on a flop of {J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} holding {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} against an opponent's {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Bansi needed a spade or an ace to survive and although he missed the {Q-Hearts} turn, he hit the {A-Clubs} on the river to double into five figures.

Obrestad Bests Barbieri

PLO

After a flop of {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} both Al Barbieri and Annette Obrestad checked and saw the {2-Diamonds} come on the turn. Barbieri then check-called a bet of 400 from Obrestad and the {5-Hearts} fell on the river.

Barbieri bet out 1,000 and Obrestad called. Obrestad showed the {a-}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Barbieri showed just two of his cards, the {k-Diamonds} and {7-Diamonds} before mucking his hand.

The Shark Gets a Boat

Livello 2

With the board reading {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} a player in early position check-called a bet of 400 from PokerStars Team Pro Humberto Brenes. The {q-Clubs} came on the turn and the early position player again check-called a bet of around 1,600 from Brenes. The river brought the {9-Hearts} and it was the same story as the other player once again opted to check-call Brenes bet, this time for 1,200 chips.

Brenes revealed his {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for queens full of nines and the other player mucked his hand.

After the hand Brenes had 9,300 in his stack.

Brenes Sends One to the Rail

Livello 2

PLO

A player in middle position raised to 200, Humberto Brenes called from the hijack, as did the player on the button and in the small blind.

The flop was {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and the player first to act checked. The preflop raiser bet out 600 and Brenes raised to 2,100. The player on the button thought for a minute before throwing out 6,000 and the player in the blinds folded. After a quick count, the next player got out of the way and it was back on Brenes. He grabbed his stack in one hand, looked back at his cards and threw in the rest. His opponent moved his own stack in and the hands were turned up.

Brenes; {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Not only was Brenes' opponent coolered with top set over second set, but he even had an "Ace-blocker", meaning he had an Ace in his hand and Brenes had to have to two remaining Aces in order to be currently beating him. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and the river was the {2-Hearts}. Neither changed the result of the hand and Brenes chips up to 15,000 with that knockout blow.

Brenes With Some More

Livello 3

PLH

From under the gun, Humberto Brenes raised to 350 before the player in the cutoff three-bet him to 800. Action folded back around and Brenes made the call.

The two players saw the {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and Brenes checked. His opponent thought for a few moments and decided to bet 750. Brenes quickly called and the turn was the {2-Clubs}. That sequence repeated itself, except this time for a bet worth 1,525. The river was the {4-Hearts} which put two pair on the board and Brenes checked for a third time. His opponent checked behind this time and Brenes tabled {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. His opponent mucked and Brenes stacks chips worth 18,300
