No Stud For Benyamine

Livello 8 : 250/500, 50 ante
David Benyamine
David Benyamine

David Benyamine has expressed interest in playing the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event, but has been "unsuccessful" in busting from the $5,000 No-Limit event after being all-in twice in subsequent hands.

In the first hand, Benyamine went all in from early position for 6,800. Both blinds contemplated calling, but landed on folds. Benyamine revealed the {2-Clubs} and said, "I wish someone had called me so I can play the Stud event."

Two hands later, a player in middle position raised to 1,250 and Benyamine shoved his stack in for 8,600. The middle position player called and Benyamine showed the {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, which was a coinflip to win against his opponent's {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, but the {J-Hearts} on the turn gave Benyamine the lead. A {6-Spades} fell on the river, bringing Benyamine to just under 18,000.

Smith Silenced

Livello 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

JC Tran opened his button to 1,200 only to have the small blind move all in for 11,975. With the action on Dan Smith in the big blind, he pushed his final 9,250 into the pot as Tran quickly mucked.

Smith: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

With Smith in great shape to double, the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop would now leave him drawing to just one out, and when the {7-Clubs} and {5-Clubs} completed the turn and river, Smith was forced to hit the rail.

Jarvis Out Ey

Livello 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

Speaking to Brett Richey, he detailed us on a recent hand that saw not only two Canadians battle, but also two November Niners.

Both Scott Montgomery and Matthew Jarvis saw a {10-}{8-}{2-} flop before the {8-Hearts} landed on the turn. The river of the {5-Hearts} completed the backdoor flush, and when Montgomery moved all in with Jarvis making the call, Montgomery tabled his {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Jarvis, who called all in, mucked his hand and said farewell as Montgomery moved to 65,000 in chips.

Top Pair Enough to Beat Benyamine

Livello 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

David Benyamine opened to 1,625 and was called by Sergey Rybachenko and a third player.

Benyamine fired out a continuation-bet of 2,350 on the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop with only Rybachenko making the call as the {6-Spades} rolled off on the turn.

Benyamine checked and Rybachenko pushed out 3,400 which Benyamine called before both players checked the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Rybachenko tabled his {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and scooped the pot to move to 40,000 as Benyamine mucked while slipping to 13,000 and change.

William's Top Set Finds No Action

Livello 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

A player in early position raised to 1,200 and David Williams re-raised two seats over to 3,500. The action folded back to the original raiser who made the call.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades} and the player in early position checked. Williams fired out 4,700 and his opponent folded.

"It's not like I had anything," Williams said as he rolled over {Q-}{Q-}.

Williams is now up to 60,000.

Brady Doubles, Fish Out

Livello 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Matt Brady just doubled up through Darryll Fish to moved to about 40,000 in chips. He held pocket queens and Fish's hand was unknown. What matters though is that the queens held for Brady.

Fish was left with just 75 chips and was eliminated on the next hand.
