Unlucky Boatman

After facing a bet from Barny Boatman, the small blind two bet and Boatman called. Both players saw a {2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. This time it was Boatman who two bet, and got a call.

With a {q-Clubs} hitting the turn the small blind decided to put the super short stacked Boatman all in. Boatman obliged and made the call with his {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for king high. His opponent showed {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for king high with a worse kicker. A river {9-} shocked everyone and Boatman was eliminated. A very friendly and optimistic Boatman wish all good luck before he walked away.

No Victory For The Matador

Carlos Mortensen raised it up from the small blind preflop at his four-handed table and got a call from the big blind.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Spades} Carlos bet, the big blind raised, Carlos raised, and the big blind called.

The turn came {5-Clubs} and Carlos bet again, the big blind raised and he called.

On the river {q-Spades} Carlos checked, the big blind bet and Carlos reluctantly called, leaving him with only 50 behind.

The big blind showed {8-Clubs}{6-Spades} for a turned straight and Carlos tossed his {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} into the muck.

The very next hand his 50 chips went into the pot and they didn't hold up. Carlos left in a hurry, no doubt going to late register for the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.

Buchman Bests Hollink

Action folded to Rob Hollink in the small blind who put out a raise. Eric Buchman then re-raised from the big blind. Hollink called and they saw the flop come {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Hollink check-called a bet from Buchman and the {2-Hearts} came on the turn. Hollink again check-called a bet from Buchman and they saw the {6-Spades} come on the river.

Hollink checked a third time but after Buchman fired out another bet Hollink opted to fold his hand.

Hollink was left with 3,700 while Buchman chipped up to 24,500.

Bardah Won't Buckle

We recently reported on a couple of hands where Ronnie Bardah was chipping up. The momentum he gained from those hands hasn't disappeared yet as he just eliminated one of the players at his table.

After a flop of {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Bardah check-raised his opponent who then opted to call. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and when Bardah bet out the other player put in a raise and Bardah called. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and the action got flipped again as Bardah checked and then raised after his opponent bet. His opponent called putting himself all in.

Bardah revealed his {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a king-high flush and his opponent mucked his cards and headed to the rail.

Bardah's table now contains only three players. Bardah's opponents include Mo Hamidullah and Mark Rumbaugh. We want to give a shout-out to Rumbaugh's wife who follows all the PokerNews updates at home!

First Heads-Up Table

Livello 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Most tables are now five-handed or under, but we appear to have reached our first heads-up match between Sergey Rybachenko and another player. The blinds continue to grow and we should have some table winners coming up in the next few levels.

Bardah Bumps Up His Stack

Ronnie Bardah's stack was recently spotted moving in the right direction after a couple of interesting hands.

In the first, a player check-called bets from Ronnie Bardah on the flop, turn, and river of a board that ended up reading {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Bardah showed the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for kings full of threes and his stack grew to 8,200.

Not long after that hand action folded to the player in the small blind who raised. Bardah called from the big blind and they saw the flop come {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The small blind bet, Bardah raised, and the small blind called. The turn and river brought the {10-Hearts} and {6-Spades} and on both streets the small blind check-called a bet from Bardah.

Bardah showed {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for two pair and that was good enough to win the pot and boost his stack to 11,000.

Ramdin Harmlessly Doubles a Short Stack

Victor Ramdin is still five-handed with his table, but that doesn't seem to matter the way Victor Ramdin is playing. While he still has four opponents he needs to knock out Ramdin looks to be in great shape to pull this table out. Ramdin has almost four times as many chips as the player closest to him.

We found him make a small stumble on his way to victory though. Action had folded around to Ramdin on the button and he put out a bet. The short stack in the small blind then two bet and Ramdin called. A {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop was sent out and Ramdin put his opponent all in with a bet. His opponent called and cards were tabled.

Ramdin: {J-}{6-}
Opponent: {A-}{7-}

We saw a {q-Spades} hit on the turn and a {2-Diamonds} spike the river, neither of which helped Ramdin out. The short stack doubled up, but is still going to need a lot of help to take down Ramin's huge stack.
