Scotty Nguyen was a minute or so late coming back from the dinner break, arriving back at his table just in time to see Michael Binger open-raise from the button, forcing a fold from Matt Savage in the small blind. Nguyen's hand had already been folded before he sat down, and so he saw his big blind being shipped over to Binger.
"You robbed me, baby?" said Nguyen with a grin. "Oh, you've been blinding down for an hour," said Dan Heimiller. "There was no dinner break." All laughed as the next hand was dealt.
This time Binger raised again from the cutoff, and Savage called from the button. Nguyen then made it two bets from the small blind, forcing out the BB. Binger and Savage both called, and the flop came . Nguyen bet, and his two opponents both called. All three then checked the turn and river.
Nguyen hesitated, watching Savage show and Binger . With no low, Binger's jacks gave him the best high as Nguyen mucked.
"Jack-jack," said Nguyen. "You robbed me again, baby!"
Binger has about 41,000 with which to try to perpetrate more thefts going forward. Nguyen has about 27,000, and Savage 18,000.
Josh Arieh raised from middle position, and Ben Yu called from the big blind. The flop came . Yu bet, and Arieh called. The turn was the . Yu bet again, and this time Arieh raised. Yu called.
The river was the . Yu bet a third time, and after considering for a few moments, Arieh decided to make the call. Yu quickly tabled for a flopped full house, and Arieh mucked.
Yu is up to about 70,000 now, while Arieh slips to 62,000.
It folded around to Allen Kessler on the button. He checked his cards, then raised, and both the blinds released.
"Kessler giving action," came the call from across the table. Kessler briefly flashed his cards, and we caught a glimpse of three of them -- the , the , and a .
"Every time you get a good hand, your forehead lights up," cracked Abe Mosseri. "I didn't check my cards until the action was on me!" insisted Kessler, who may or may not have still been beaming.
A slightly controversial exit for Daniel Buckley, he was all in with trip nines on sixth street against Kyle Loman's aces. The latter thought his opponent had filled up already and the dealer mucked his hand after seventh card was dealt, only for Loman to see he'd made trip aces and now had the best hand.
The floor was called and several players at the table had agreed that they had seen Loman's trip aces and his hand was declared live. An unhappy situation for Daniel Buckley however, he was eliminated as a result.
A player completed, Brandon Shack-Harris called with the up, and Jerry Buss called with the . On fourth, Shack-Harris bet and the other two called. On fifth, Shack-Harris bet and only Buss stuck around. Then on sixth when Shack-Harris bet Buss raised, and Shack-Harris called. Shack-Harris then check-called seventh.
Buss turned over to go with the he had up for a club flush and no low, and Shack-Harris, who'd been dealt from third to sixth, mucked.
Buss rolls up to 44,000 with that scoop, while Shack-Harris still has 111,000.
Hoyt Verner: / /
Jason Potter: / FOLDED
Matt Savage: / /
Hoyt Verner brought in on third and Jason Potter completed, Matt Savage then raised all in with Verner and Potter both calling. On fourth, Verner bet his ace and Potter folded, Verner turned over for just a low draw while Savage flipped . Verner made a pair of eights on fifth which managed to hold as both players bricked, Savage making sixes on seventh but it wasn't enough to get him any part of the pot despite many outs.
