Garrett Utt: Bubble Boy

Garrett Utt
Garrett Utt

We didn't catch the hand that put us into the money, but Heinz Pius, the player who scored the knockout, was kind enough to give us the play by play. Utt raised in middle position, and Pius called in the big blind. The flop came out {a-}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}, and Pius checked. Utt bet 3,500, and Pius raised to 9,500. Utt called, and the turn came a {3-}. At that point the two players got the moeny all in, with Pius having Utt easily covered.

Utt: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}
Pius: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Pius would need a spade on the river to score the knockout, and he got just that, as it came the {3-Spades}. Utt was sent to the rail short of the money, and Pius is now sitting on a monster stack of around 200,000

Timoshenko Can't Pull the Trigger

Livello 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We caught up with the action on a {Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} flop and four players checked to see a turn, including Teresa Duck from middle position and Yevgeniy Timoshenko from the cutoff.

The turn came a {3-Hearts} and action checked around to Timoshenko, who fired 5,600. Everyone folded around to Duck, who flatted.

The {2-Diamonds} completed the board and Duck checked to Timoshenko, who cut out a bet to 16,400 but then suddenly rapped the table - indicating a check - before sliding his bet into the middle.

Duck showed {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and it was good, as Timoshenko mucked.

Timoshenko is still sitting healthy with 80,000.

Gates Beasts a Double

Livello 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Garry "Beast Mode" Gates opened with a raise to 2,600 and Jonathan Little flat-called. A third player reraised to 9,500 before action moved back to Gates. He went into full-on beast mode and move all in for approximately 34,000. Little folded and then the three bettor asked for a count. Once he received one, the player made the call with {A-}{K-}. Gates held two nines.

The flop produced a nine and gave Gates a set. He was well in the lead at that point and held up to double to over 70,000.
