Rheem Running His Stack Up

Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Chino Rheem opened to 4,800 from the button and found one caller in Mike DeMichele from the big blind.

DeMichele donked for 7,300 on the {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop and Rheem called.

When the {7-Diamonds} fell on the turn, DeMichele checked and it was Rheem who led out for 8,000. DeMichele called.

When the {4-Clubs} completed the board, DeMichele tanked and slowly counted his stack. It looked as if he were about to bet, but after about a minute he checked. Rheem immediately announced he was all-in and DeMichele quickly mucked.

Rheem is up to 140,000 while DeMichele has slipped to 50,000.

Andrew's Aces Give Him A Double Up

We reported earlier that Howard "Tahoe" Andrew was given a shout out for playing in the most consecutive WSOP's, and he is not looking to leave this event anytime soon. We just caught a double up with Andrew where he was called all in preflop, and was in a dominating position against his opponent, Marco Bianquin.

Andrew: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Bianquin: {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The flop brought Andrew a bit of a scare, coming {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The turn, the {k-Spades}, kept Andrew in the lead, and the river brought the {q-Diamonds}. Andrew registered the double up, getting him back to 32,000.

LeFort Finds River Miracle Against Gates

Action folded to Sean LeFort in the small blind. He raised to 5,000 with only Garry "Beast Mode" Gates to act in the big blind. Gates flat-called and the two went to the flop, which came down {J-}{7-}{4-} rainbow. LeFort led for 4,600 and Gates put in a raise to 11,000. LeFort made the call with a little under 60,000 behind in his stack.

The dealer placed a {Q-} out on the turn and LeFort checked. Gates fired 20,000 and LeFort jammed all in with a check-raise. He was all in for 57,000 and Gates made the call, holding top two with {Q-}{J-}. LeFort was in tough shape with his {A-}{4-} for bottom pair.

The river saved LeFort from elimination when another {4-} smacked on the end and gave him trips to send Gates' top two pair up in flames. Gates sent over the chips and was left with a little over 60,000 in his stack. LeFort moved to about 150,000.

Earlier in this World Series of Poker, LeFort placed third in the 865-player Event #4: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em. Allen Bari went on to win the event, but LeFort scooped up $348,128 for his third-place finish.

Timoshenko Chips Up

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We caught up with the action on a {Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, where Yevgeniy Timoshenko led out for 6,700 from the small blind against his lone opponent in the big blind. His opponent called.

The turn brought the {A-Diamonds} and, taking his time, Timoshenko fired 14,800, which got a fold out of his opponent.

Timoshenko is currently sitting with approximately 100,000.

Loh Uses High Cards

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Paul Loh opened from under the gun for 5,600 and Alvin Staana moved all in right behind him. Action folded all the way back around to Loh and he called.

Loh: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Staana: {10-Hearts} {10-Spades}

The board ran {6-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and Loh's kings held, sending Staana to the rail.

No more Beast Mode here
No more Beast Mode here

When we got to Garry "Beast Mode" Gates' table, he was heads up with Samuel Greenwood on a flop of {2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}. With about 10,000 in the pot already, Gates put out a bet of 6,200. Greenwood took a few moments before cutting out the chips and making a call. The turn brought the {5-Diamonds}, and Gates checked to Greenwood, who bet an unknown amount. Gates quickly shoved all in, and Greenwood snap called. The cards were flipped, and it was bad news for Gates.

Gates: {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Greenwood: {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Greenwood had flopped trip kings, and Gates was drawing dead. The meaningless river was the {6-Hearts}, and Gates grabbed his stuff and headed to the payout desk just minutes before the dinner break.

Klatt Doubles Through Rheem

Chino Rheem opened to 4,800 from under-the-gun and action folded to Andreas Klatt in the big blind, who announced he was all-in for 36,700. Rheem asked for a count and then made the call.

Rheem: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Klatt: {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}...{K-Hearts}, giving Klatt a superior two-pair on the river.

Despite the hit, Rheem has chipped up nicely this level and is currently sitting with 150,000.
