You'll note that Darryl Ronconi has been knocked out of the top spot in the counts, and we have a few details on his slide.
He opened a pot to 40,000 from the hijack seat, and Jim Routos called to see a flop out of position in the small blind. It came , and Routos check-called a bet of 65,000. That led them to the turn, and Ronconi fired again, 175,000 total. This time, however, Routos check-raised all in for 562,000 total. That sent Ronconi into the think tank, but he eventually uncapped his cards and slid them into the muck, dropping back to a still-quite-healthy 1.25 million.
Antonin Teisseire got his final 260,000 all in preflop against Michael Benvenuti. Teisseire was well behind with his against the of Benvenuti. The flop was and the turn was the . Teisseire was down to five outs but the river delivered for him. When it hit, there was a slight delay before he gave a big shout with a very deep voice. He got up and celebrated with a couple friends on the rail before being issued a warning for excessive celebration. Benvenuti remained quiet the whole time as he slid over the chips to call, leaving himself with just 335,000.
The table folded around to the blinds, and Mike Fosco open-shoved for 188,000 with the mighty . In the big, Dylan Wilkerson figured was good enough to call with, and it was bad news for Fosco's dominated hand.
Bad news, that is, until the flop brought and a big lead for the at-risk player, and the turn and river locked up the double. Tens and nines get the job done for Fosco, and he's back to 388,000 now. Wilkerson has less than that after getting three-outed, and he's going to have to do some work now with 330,000 chips left.
Isaac Baron shoved from the small blind with , and big blind Mikhail Yakovlev found to call off his last 230,000 with.
The board came running , and the lowly threes hold to double Yakovlev up to 472,000. Baron could afford that hit, but it does knock him down a peg to about 725,000.
We joined the action on a flop as Arnaud Esquevin was betting 76,000 into a pot of over 100,000. Darryl Ronconi called on the button, and Pierre Neuville check-raised to 176,000 total. That folded Esquevin, but Ronconi flatted to see the on the turn. It went check-check there, and the filled out the board on the river. Neuville took his cue to fire again, sliding out 100,000 straight. Ronconi quickly called, and Neuville tabled for two pair. It was no good. The of Ronconi had made a wheel, and that pot pushes him back into the top spot with 1.55 million.
Neuville is now in short-stacked territory with about 280,000 chips left.
Mike Fosco opened to 35,000 from the cutoff seat, and Bruno Lopes three-bet to 85,000. Fosco shoved on him with the covering stack, and Lopes called for his tournament life with . Fosco's was racing for the knockout.
And the knockout he would get. The board came . and Lopes could not get over the hump. He's out in 20th place, and Fosco stacks his chips to climb close to 700,000. We'll give him 690,000.
Vanessa Peng raised under the gun to 33,000. Arnaud Esquevin was in the big blind and it had folded around to him when he raised to 90,000. Peng threw in a four-bet to 158,000 before Esquevin announced he was risking all of his chips.Peng folded and falls to 540,000 while Esquivin gets to 750,000.
Mikhail Yakovlev raised to 40,000 on the button, and Yann Enzinger three-bet to 85,000 from the small blind. Yakovlev called, and they took a flop. Enzinger took the lead, betting out all in for just about 200,000. Yakovlev snap-called with his big stack and a chance at the knockout.
Showdown
Yakovlev:
Enzinger:
Enzinger had flopped top pair, but he was drawing dead to runner-runner against the straight of Yakovlev. The turn was one of those runners, opening the door a crack as Enzinger tried to run down a full house. He could not, though, and the river ends his day in 19th place.
