D’Agostino Downhill

We caught up with the action three-handed on a {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop where it was checked over to the button who bet 725. A player in early position as well as John D’Agostino in the cutoff both called as the players saw the {7-Clubs} roll off on the turn. The early position player checked to D’Agostino who bet 2,100 which got the button to fold but the first player stuck around. On the {J-Diamonds} river, both players checked and D’Agostino mucked before his opponent even showed. The early position player turned over {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for just ace high as he raked in the pot.

Busquet Four-Barrel Blasts His Way Over The Competition

Action began with Olivier Busquet opening for 500 from early position. He was called in three spots, including Greg Raymer in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and both blinds checked to Busquet, who c-bet for 1,200. A player in middle position called, as did Raymer from the big blind.

The turn brought a {K-Hearts} and Raymer checked to Busquet, who fired again for 3,200. The middle position player called but Raymer decided to fold.

The {A-Spades} completed the board and Busquet thought for a bit before announcing he was all in. His last remaining opponent quickly mucked.

Busquet is currently up to 54,000.

Doyle Chips Up Bit by Bit

Livello 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Doyle Brunson raised to 600 from early position and was called by Camton Michaels in the big blind. The flop came {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Michaels checked it over to Brunson who bet 900. Michaels folded and Brunson took the pot.

A couple hands later, Balaz Biri raised to 500 from middle position and Brunson called from the big blind. The action stalled there however as both players checked on every street of a {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} board. Brunson flipped over his {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and his pair of rivered fours was good enough to win the pot.

It seems that Brunson had struggled with the decision of whether to play the Main Event this year, but he confirmed his entry into the tournament via his Twitter page last night when he tweeted, "Ok, I, officially am playing the ME. Do I feel good? No. Do I want to play? No. Am I playing my best? No. Am I gonna try my best? Damn right!!"

We're guessing the other players at the featured table are excited to have the opportunity to play with one of the all-time greats of the poker world.

Some Decisions Easier Than Others

Livello 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

A player in middle position raised to 400 and got four callers: Greg Raymer (hijack seat), Olivier Busquet (button), and both blinds including Bob Woolley in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and it checked to the preflop raiser who continued for 1,100. Raymer then bumped it up to 2,500, and Busquet folded. The player in the small blind then tossed out a big reraise to 15,000, and it folded back to Raymer.

"I'm glad I don't have to make a hard decision," said Raymer. He took one last look at his cards, then tossed them to the dealer.

Raymer has about 32,000 right now, while Busquet has built up to 55,000 and Woolley sits with about 16,000. Meanwhile, it looks as though David Chicotsky -- who was down to less than 9,000 at the end of Level 1 -- has been eliminated as his seat between Woolley and Tom Schneider is now empty.

Not Looki-Ng So Good

We caught up with the action heads up on a {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop where Evelyn Ng bet 1,400 and a player in early position called. On the {2-Diamonds} turn, Ng announced what sounded like 2,400 before she threw out a 5,000 chip. Whatever the amount was, it was enough to get the Ng’s opponent to fold however despite winning the pot, she was only sitting with around a third of the original starting stack.

Saout Sinking

Antoine Saout, who made the November Nine in 2009, has just lost a big pot that saw him ship nearly half his stack over to his opponent. We caught the hand as the river was being dealt on a board of {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. There was already over 14,000 in the pot, and Saout's opponent assembled a bet of 7,200 on the river. Saout sat back in his chair, and took some heavy breaths while he counted out the chips for the call. After about 45 seconds of thinking, he flung in the call, and his opponent turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for aces full of tens. Saout mucked his hand, and his stack dropped to under 20,000.

Lodden Cracks Kings

Action opened with Johnny Lodden in late position who raised to 450. The player on the button called as well as the player in the small blind. The big blind decided to three-bet the action, making it 2,050 to go. Lodden made the call only to find the player on the button move his whole stack in the middle for 8,700. The small blind and the big blind folded and action returned to Lodden who made the call.

Lodden: {3-Spades}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The flop paired Lodden when it came {6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{2-Hearts} but he was still behind the pocket kings of his opponent. The {6-Spades} came on the turn and gave Lodden spade outs. Unfortunately for his opponent, the {A-Spades} came on the river giving Lodden a winning flush, allowing him to chip up to 45,000.
