And We're Back!

Livello 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Player just got back from break. We'll play two more levels before dinner. With a lot of stacks getting shorter, there's sure to be some exciting action to come!

Ship it to Shak

Livello 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Dan Shak is continuing to add to his already massive chipstack.

A player in late position pushed all in for his last 1,275 and Shak called from the small blind. Shak showed the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} which was ahead of the other player's {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Shak's full house sent the other player to the rail. After the hand Shak had around 32,000 which makes him one of our current chipleaders.

A Sizeable Field

Livello 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

The total number of entrants for the tournament (including pre-registration for day 1b tomorrow) is now listed at 2,989. It would not be surprising if this years field bested last years total of 4,345 after registration closes tomorrow.

Jarzabek Takes One Down

Livello 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Casey Jarzabek's stack is moving in the right direction. He raised from under the gun to 525 only to have the player in the cutoff re-raise to 1,300. Jarzabek called and they saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {2-Hearts} fell on the turn. Jarzabek checked and the cutoff bet 2,500. Jarzabek shuffled his chips for a bit before putting out a raise that more than covered his opponents stack. The cutoff decided to call and Jarzabek stated, "If you call you probably win."

Jarzabek revealed his {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a pair of sevens and found that he was ahead of the all-in player's {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The river brought the {2-Hearts} and Jarzabek's stack grew to around 20,000.

Shak Slips a Bit

Livello 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Dan Shak has been staying active and we just caught him calling another player's all in. They were off to the races as Shak held the {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} while the other player had the {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}. The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} but the {2-Clubs} fell on the turn leaving Shak drawing dead. The {8-Hearts} on the river was inconsequential and the other player doubled up.

Luckily for Shak the other player didn't have many chips to start with and Shak's stack is still at a very healthy 31,000.

The Brock Says

Livello 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

We just saw Brock Parker’s stack grow as he was stacking the chips of an opponent that he eliminated. We missed the action but assume that the money got all in preflop with Parker holding {9-}{9-}. His opponent had {A-}{Q-} and the board was {8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} giving Parker the unnecessary straight. He was up to 11,000 after the hand.
