He'll Take Your Chips, And A Picture With You!

Livello 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

With the board already reading {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} a player pushed all in for his last 1,600 chips and Chau Giang called. The all-in player held the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for an overpair and an open-ended straight draw, but was behind to Giang's {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a flopped set. The turn and river brought the {10-Diamonds} and {a-Clubs} which were of no help to the all-in player and he was eliminated although didn't seem terribly upset about it.

"I said if I was going to get busted, I wanted it to be by this guy," he said as he put his arm aroung Giang. He asked Giang if he could take a picture with him and Giang agreed.

Giang now has around 7,000 in his stack.

Fossilman Floudering Early On

Livello 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Only about ten minutes after taking his seat, we caught up with Greg "Fossilman" Raymer while he was involved in hand.

The board read {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Raymer's opponent had fired a bet of 1,000 into the 2,000 chip pot.

Raymer removed his trademark reptilian glasses and sighed before mucking his cards. His opponent flashed the {10-Diamonds} to the table before collecting his chips and Raymer is now down to just over 1,000 chips.

David Williams
David Williams

A player in early position raised to 225, the small blind called, and David Williams re-raised all in for a total of 1525. The original raiser called and the hands were tabled.

Williams: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board didn't favor Williams when it ran out {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Quack, Quack! Paul "X-22" Magriel In the House

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

During one of our long strolls around the Pavilion Room, we ran into Paul "X-22" Magriel sitting at one of the hundreds of tournament tables. His distinctive call of "quack, quack" while making a bet drew our attention and we asked X-22 for a quick chip count. Magriel sits with approximately 6,200 chips and is in comfortable shape as we head to our first break.

Buecherl Busto

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Although we missed the betting action, right before the break we caught Konstantin Buecherl all in preflop holding the {Q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} against another players {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. The board ran out {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Buecherl's day came to an early end.

Flush for Flack

Livello 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Layne Flack raised from middle position to 175 and a player in late position re-raised to 400. Flack called and the flop came {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}. Flack checked, the other player bet 600 and Flack instantly shoved all in. The other player quickly called and Flack found that his {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} was behind to his opponent's {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Flack would have to catch a king or a spade to stay alive and the turn did bring the {7-Spades} giving Flack a flush and the win.

After the hand Flack had around 4,300 in chips.
