Winner to be Crowned in 2023 WSOP Event #10: $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship

The opening stages of the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas are set to be crowning a winner in the second Championship Event of the annual live poker festival in Sin City. Event #10: $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship drew a total of 130 entries to set a new record attendance and just 13 hopefuls remain in contention for the $311,428 first place prize, the biggest slice of the $1,209,000 prize pool.

Only two days ago, Chad Eveslage won his second WSOP bracelet in Event #5: $1,500 Dealer's Choice (6-Handed) and he has the chance to add a third to his collection. On his sixth day of this mixed game contest with 20 different poker variants included, he returns as the chip leader with 1,371,000 followed by Trinidad's Ryan Goindoo (1,075,000) and Marco Johnson (925,000).

A repeat victory would put his feat in a similar category as the three consecutive wins of Adam Friedman in this very event but it won't be an easy ride by any means. Nine of the thirteen remaining contenders already have at least one WSOP gold bracelet to their name, such as Ari Engel (767,000), Day 1 chip leader John Hennigan (519,000), last year's runner-up Mike Gorodinsky (496,000), Paul Volpe (340,000), Dutch Boyd (256,000), James Obst (250,000), and Scott Bohlman (113,000).

Besides second-placed Goindoo, an additional trio of players is seeking their first bracelet. Jordan Siegel (858,000), Dustin Dirksen (442,000), and Zack Freeman (388,000) all remain in contention with the eyes set on a potential maiden victory.

The third and scheduled final day will recommence at 2 p.m. local time in the Paris Purple section with level 18. Limits in draw and stud games will be 20,000-40,000, and the levels continue to last 90 minutes each until a winner has been crowned. There will be a redraw with 12 and 7 players and it remains to be seen whether a champion can be crowned tonight. One year ago, an additional tournament day was required to determine the winner of the WSOP gold bracelet.
