Labrunda Brings the Birthday Luck

Livello 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

PokerNews missed the actual hand, but the player involved described what had transpired with photographic evidence...

On a heads-up flop of K67 Daniel Labrunda and his opponent got all the chips into the middle, with Labrunda at risk.

Daniel Labrunda: KK
Opponent: Q9

Labrunda and his top set of kings were behind his opponent's flopped flush, but the miracle K spiked on the turn to give him quads and left his opponent drawing stone dead. The 10 on the river did nothing and he was awarded the huge pot for the double-up.

Apparently his opponent was left with around 4,000 chips after that scuffle and busted out soon after while Labrunda is currently sitting with 60,000.

"Hey, it's my birthday by the way...had to bring the luck somehow!"

Nuss Rivers Royal

Livello 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Bill Nuss tracked down PokerNews to discuss (and show pictures of) a hand he played.

According to Nuss, he and his opponent made "a few small bets" on the a flop of A107. Both players checked the Q turn and Nuss' opponent called another bet on the 3 river.

Nuss turned over KJ, having made a royal flush to win the pot.

Anderson One-Ups Opponent

Livello 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

David Anderson raised preflop to 900 from the small blind, and received calls from the big blind and a player in early position (who had previously limped.)

The flop came 8109. Anderson led out for 1,300, and the player in early position called. Both players checked the 7 turn and 10 river.

"Nine," said Anderson's opponent.

"Ten," said Anderson, who turned over K10 to take down the pot.

No Sweat for Niebel

Livello 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

On a flop of 746, Carlos Suarez led out for 2,000 but was then raised to 8,000 by Brian Niebel and another player made the call.

Suarez then moved all in for around 30,000, which caused Niebel to also move all in for less. The other player quickly got out of the way and the cards were tabled, with Niebel at risk of elimination.

Brian Niebel: 44
Carlos Suarez: AQ

"Well that's poker right there!" tablemate Daniel Labrunda commented at the classic flush draw versus set race.

Well Niebel didn't have long to sweat as the turn immediately paired the board with the 6 to give him a full house and left Suarez drawing dead. The meaningless 5 completed the board and Niebel was shipped the large pot for a big double up.

Suarez was left short after that battle but was able to get some of it back the following hand when his ace-jack bested his opponent's ace-seven on an ace-high board in a 20,000 chip pot.

Top Set No Good

Livello 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

After significant betting on a board of 10586, there was a player in early position who jammed all in for the remainder of his chips. Santucci Lido was next to act and snap called. The remaining players in the hand folded and the player in early position confidently flipped over his hand. The only issue was that Lido had some bad news for him.

At Risk Player: 1010
Santucci Lido: 97

Top set was no good with just one card to come. The at-risk player needed the board to pair to secure the double but the 2 river brought no help and Santucci delivered the brutal cooler to chip up early in a big way.
