Ewing Turns a Straight and gets Paid

Livello 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action folded to the button who limped in for 600. The small blind called, Eric Ewing checked in the big blind, and the players went three-way to a flop of K87.

The flop was checked around to the player on the button who bet 1,300. The small blind folded and Ewing made the call.

The J turn was once again checked to the button who bet again, this time for 3,300. Ewing check-raised to 10,300. His opponent asked how much he had left before going all in. Ewing immediately called and was at risk.

Eric Ewing: 109
Button: KJ

Both players had improved on the turn but Ewing was well ahead with his straight against his opponent's two-pair. The river changed nothing for either player and Ewing collected a sizeable pot.

Ramos Spikes the River to Secure Double up

Livello 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action began with the under-the-gun player, who raised to 1,600 and received calls from Maria Konnikova in late position, Gabe Ramos in the small blind, and the big blind.

Both blinds checked the J25 flop and the under-the-gun player bet 2,200. Konnikova folded and Ramos check-raised to 8,000. The big blind folded and the under-the-gun player took a moment before putting in the call.

Ramos went all in for his remaining 30,400 on the 4 turn and his opponent called to put Ramos at risk.

Gabe Ramos: 58
Under the Gun: AJ

Ramos was behind with his pair and flush draw versus his opponent's top-pair but had many outs. One of those outs came on the 5 river and Ramos took down a decent pot with trip fives.
