Glantz Felted By Zuidema

Livello 35 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Matt Glantz
Matt Glantz

Brandon Zuidema opened to 1,200,000 from middle position before Matt Glantz moved all in for a little over 7,000,000 out of the big blind. Zuidema gave his decision some thought before making the call with the covering stack to put Glantz at risk.

Matt Glantz: 88
Brandon Zuidema: AJ

It was a coinflip and Glantz stayed ahead on the 332 flop. The A turn, however, vaulted Zuidema into the lead, leaving Glantz needing to hit a two outer to survive. The miracle was not to be, with the Q river ensuring Glantz will not be redeeming a seven-figure prize in the event this year.

Patrick Liang
Patrick Liang

Just after peeling an envelope worth $25,000, Patrick Liang found himself back up on the main stage looking to improve on his previous score. After he revealed that the first number in the envelope was a one, he had locked up at least $100,000 but had a 50/50 shot to grab the final $1,000,000. That is precisely what happened as, jumping in the air with a few fist pumps mixed in, he held the sheet of paper confirming his huge payday aloft. When asked what he will spend his newfound wealth on, he responded in a charitable manner that the first order of business would be to give everyone at his table $1,000.

Although the top bounties are now gone, the remaining players still have a lot to play for with a $250,000 bounty still up for grabs and $1,000,000 awaiting the eventual tournament winner.
