David Kim and Bence Szurkos locked up in one of the first hands of the day. Kim bet 1,000 on a flop of K♠8♦8♠, and Szurkos called.
Both checked the A♥ turn, and Kim bet 3,000 on a Q♠ river. Szurkos considered the straight and flush draws that had come in, along with the full house possibilities, and folded. Kim took down one of the first pots of the day.
At almost the same time a cry was heard from across the room, "We have a new chip leader!" Surely much more excitement to come as the field begins Day 1.
