Nick Kost raised the button and got a call from David Levi in the big blind.

Levi drew three, while Kost only took two. Levi then check-raised a bet from Kost, which Kost called.

Levi now only drew one, while Kost still needed two. Levi led out but now got raised by Kost. Levi called

One card was still needed by Levi but Kost stood pat. Levi then check-called a bet by Kost and the very similar hands were revealed.

Kost held 86542 while Levi showed 86432.

Levi had Kost barely pipped for each half of the pot with his eight-six-four low and eight-six-three-two Badugi.

No-Limit Hold'em

Having lost the small blind in the previous hand in a draw game, Gregory Kelley picked the next variant and was down to 105,000. He pushed all-in from under the gun in NLHE and Chad Eveslage called out of the big blind.

Chad Eveslage: J9

The board ran out AK46J and Kelley failed to improve, bowing out in 9th place for $10,157.

Clayton Mozdzen raised in the cutoff and was called by both Chad Eveslage in the small blind and Gregory Kelley in the big blind.

Eveslage drew two, Kelley drew two, and Mozdzen drew three.

Following a check from Eveslage, Kelley bet and was called by both opponents.

Eveslage now drew one, as did Kelley, while Mozdzen drew two.

This time Evesalge led out with a bet which was called by Kelley. After some time in the tank, Mozdzen opted to fold.

Eveslage now patted his hand while Kelley drew one. Eveslage bet again and got a reluctant call from Kelley.

Eveslage showed 97432 for a nine low and a seven-four-three-two Badugi. Kelley bemoaned his misfortune as he showed 75542 a seven-five-four-two Badugi, which was just pipped by Eveslage to scoop the pot.

Mozdzen Puts Racener on Fumes

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Clayton Mozdzen: 554/65103
John Racener: A74/A7QK

After exchanging raises on third street, Clayton Mozdzen bet every street the rest of the way, getting calls from John Racener until the end.

Racener appeared to not love it on sixth street, but after he called he put in the last bet on seventh as well, and then saw the bad news that Mozdzen held trip fives for high to beat his two pair of aces and sevens while also holding a ten-low to scoop the pot and leave Racener with less than one big bet.

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Nick Pupillo had lost half of his stack while James Johnson leaped into the top spot and the latter then also claimed the remainder of Pupillo's stack. After the second draw, Pupillo moved all in for the 380,000 he had behind and that sent Johnson into the tank before he called.

Both discarded one card and turned them over.

Nick Pupillo: 8x7x3x2x
James Johnson: 8x5x4x3x

Johnson spiked the 10x and Pupillo peeled his last card, then shook his head and exposed another 8x as he paired up to become the first casualty on Day 3.

Andrew "AJ" Kelsall Aiming for Elusive Second Bracelet in $1,500 Dealer's Choice

Andrew Kelsall
Andrew Kelsall

"I gotta run good tomorrow. I always run good until this stage."

These were some of Andrew Kelsall’s parting thoughts as he bagged up his tournament-leading chip stack at the conclusion of Day 2 of World Series of Poker Event #5: $1,500 Dealer’s Choice.

While Kelsall has 158 cashes and a bracelet on his esteemed WSOP resume, there are several ‘so close yet so far’ moments attached to that WSOP CV, most notably a runner-up finish in this very event in 2021.

Kelsall’s words aren’t unfounded, as a look at his results in recent WSOP Day 3’s confirms that he has been within sniffing distance of more WSOP gold but has come just short.

To return to that elusive mountaintop, Kelsall will have to navigate through ten talented remaining opponents including a pair of bracelet winners in Chad Eveslage (1,095,000) and John Racener (565,000).

Other notables still in the mix include Andrew Brown (465,000), who has deep run experience in this event, having placed 3rd in 2016. David Levi (645,000) is a long-time veteran of the WSOP who’s right in the mix for his first-ever bracelet. Nick Pupillo (1,105,000) has more recently ventured into the WSOP mixed game arena but has a pair of final table appearances in WSOP Circuit H.O.R.S.E. events this year.
