Jon Turner raised to 1,800 under the gun and got called by Eric Kurtzman in late position. Ian Steinman three-bet from the cutoff to 7,500 and both Turner and Kurtzman came along to the draw round.

Katz Scores Knockout

Livello 4 : Blinds 300/600, 900 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz opened to 2,000 from under the gun and was called by Scott Bohlman in the cutoff. A player in the small blind then three-bet to 6,500 only to see Katz come back over the top for 15,000. That high level of action convinced Bohlman to vacate the pot with the small blind moving all in. Katz snapped it off with the covering stack to put his opponent at risk.

Both players stood pat after which the small blind turned over 9x8x5x4x3x. It was not good, however, as Katz held 8x7x5x4x2x to eliminate his opponent. "Can I change my mind" the small blind joked, asking for one more card as he stood up to make his exit. "It's a cooler" Shawn Sheikhan, who was also at the table, offered as some form of consolation to the felted individual.

Beginner's Luck for Kornuth

Livello 4 : Blinds 300/600, 900 ante

Chance Kornuth opened to 1,500 from under the gun and was called by Jen Harman on the button, who it would later become apparent had intended to put in a raise. A player in the big blind also made the call to send action three-way to the draw.

The big blind took two and Harman one while Kornuth stood pat. Action then checked around and Kornuth tabled 8x6x5x3x2x for a winner. "Beginner's luck" another player at the table remarked as Kornuth scooped the pot. "I didn't even know what number two was until today" Kornuth responded with a laugh.
