Hands #19-21: Jachtmann Leaves Holzner Below Ten Blinds

Hand #19: Juan Maceiras raised to 2,500,000 with A♣Q♥ and Adam Walton called from the hijack holding the 2♠2♥. They checked to the 5♦4♠3♥Q♠ turn on which Maceiras bet 3,000,000 and Walton called. The 9♥ river then saw Maceiras bet another 6,000,000 and Walton tank-folded.

Hand #20: Walton opened to 2,400,000 and won the pot uncontested with his K♦Q♣.

Hand #21: Daniel Holzner raised to 2,400,000 with the A♥A♣ and received a call from Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the small blind with the 10♦10♣. They headed to the 10♠8♠4♣ flop on which Jachtmann checked, prompting a bet worth 1,800,000 by Holzner and the call by Jachtmann.

The 7♦ fell on the turn and Jachtmann checked once more, Holzner checked back to see the 7♥ for free.

Jachtmann now bet 9,000,000 and Holzner went deep into the tank, having counted the chips he had at his disposal. The Italian called and mucked when Jachtmann showed his 10♦10♣ for a full house, tens full of sevens.

Hands #14-18: Cold Four-Bet From Walton

Hand #14: Daniel Weinman opened to 2,400,000 in the hijack with the K♣Q♠ and won the pot.

Hand #15: Daniel Weinman opened to 2,400,000 in middle position with the A♦Q♣ and Juan Maceiras called on the button with A♠10♣ before Daniel Holzner with 10♠9♠ and Adam Walton with the K♣3♠ came along from the blinds. Weinman continued for 2,700,000 on the flop of A♥9♣3♦ and only Maceiras called. Weinman then checked on the 4♠ turn and Maceiras checked back. Weinman then bet 12,000,000 on the 7♥ river and Maceiras immediately folded.

Hand #16: Toby Lewis with the A♣5♣ opened to 2,300,000 in early position and Ruslan Prydryk called out of the big blind with the 6♦4♦. Prydryk checked on the flop of K♠10♥9♦ and Lewis continued for 1,700,000. Prydryk folded.

Hand #17: Jan-Peter Jachtmann opened to 2,500,000 in middle position with the Q♠Q♦ and Adam Walton called on the button holding the 8♠7♣. Jachtmann continued for 3,500,000 on the flop of 9♦2♣4♣ and Walton folded without a fight.

Hand #18: Jan-Peter Jachtmann opened to 2,500,000 in early position with the 8♥8♣ and Steven Jones called from the next seat with the A♥J♠ before Juan Maceiras three-bet to 11,000,000 holding the 5♥3♥. Adam Walton then quickly put in a cold four-bet to 22,500,000 from the cutoff with the A♠K♣ to bring quick folds from everyone in the hand.

Hands #10-13: Holzner Chops With Jachtmann

Livello 38 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Hand #10: Daniel Holzner opened the action with a min-raise to 2,400,000 with A♦Q♦ and collected the pot without resistance.

Hand #11: Holzner also raised the next hand to 2,400,000 and it folded all the way to Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the big blind, who carefully cut out a three-bet to 8,100,000. Holzner took one and a half minutes before he pushed all in for 30,600,000 and Jachtmann asked for an exact count.

Jachtmann counted his remaining stack and cut out the chips for a potential call, which he eventually made.

The Q♥3♦2♥ flop gave Jachtmann a freeroll with back door hearts but the split pot was secured with the K♣ turn, triggering boos from all around the Thunderdome as the meaningless J♣ river completed the board.

Hand #12: Holzner raised to 2,400,000 for the third hand in a row, this time holding Q♥10♥. Ruslan Prydryk then three-bet to 7,500,000 from two seats over with A♦A♣ and all opponents including Holzner folded.

Hand #13: Adam Walton made it 2,400,000 to go with 8♣7♣ and Juan Maceiras called out of the big blind holding A♥3♥. The Q♥J♠4♦ flop was checked by Maceiras and Walton continued for 1,600,000 to earn a call from Maceiras.

After the 7♥ turn, Maceiras checked near instantly and Walton fired a bet of 8,100,000. This time, the Spaniard went into the tank before he called and Maceiras then checked the 8♠ river.

Walton bet big, making it 20,000,000 to go into a pot of 26,000,000.

More than one minute later, Maceiras reluctantly folded.

Hand #7: Toby Lewis opened to 2,400,000 in early position with the A♥Q♠ and Daniel Weinman called from the next seat with A♦Q♣. Daniel Holzner folded the A♠J♣ on the button. The blinds folded too. Lewis checked on the flop of J♦5♥7♣ and Weinman bet 2,400,000. Lewis folded.

Hand #8: Daniel Weinman raised to 2,400,000 from early position with the Q♠Q♣ and Jan-Peter Jachtmann called to his left holding the K♠Q♥. Weinman checked on the flop of 4♥5♥8♥ and Jachtmann checked back. Weinman then bet 3,600,000 on the 5♣ turn. Jachtmann called. Weinman then checked on the A♥ river and Jachtmann fired a bet of 4,500,000. Weinman laid it down.

Hand #9: Ruslan Prydryk opened to 2,400,000 on the button with the 9♦8♠ and Toby Lewis three-bet jammed from the big blind for 22,800,000 with the K♥J♣. Prydryk quickly folded.

The reigning WSOP Main Event Espen Jorstad delivered the shuffle up and deal before the action went underway.

Hand #1: Adam Walton raised to 2,400,000 with the A♦J♣ and Ruslan Prydryk three-bet to 7,500,000 with the Q♣J♥ in the cutoff to win the pot.

Hand #2: Juan Maceiras made it 2,500,000 to go from an early position and collected the blinds as well as big blind ante with the 8♥7♥.

Hand #3: Toby Lewis raised to 2,400,000 in the cutoff with the A♥10♥, winning the pot, as his British rail burst out in celebration.

Hand #4: Jan-Peter Jachtmann raised it up to 2,500,000 on the button holding the 6♦6♣. Steve Jones gave him a brief stare down on the other side of the dealer and folded the Q♦7♣ in the small blind, Maceiras in the big blind called with J♣3♣ to see the K♣10♠9♠ flop. The Spaniard checked and Jachtmann continued for 3,600,000 to take down the pot.

Hand #5: Jachtmann opened to 2,500,000 in the cutoff with A♠9♦ and Jones flat-called on the button with K♥8♥, as did Daniel Holzner in the big blind with the K♦6♦. They saw a flop of 10♣5♣5♥ and after Holzner checked, Jachtmann bet 4,500,000 to force two folds.

Get Ready For Final Table Action in the 2023 WSOP Main Event

After a day of rest for the nine remaining hopefuls, the final table of the record-breaking $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is upon us.

All remaining players aside from Toby Lewis, arguably the most accomplished player left in the field, are guaranteed their largest-ever poker payday with a minimum of $900,000 locked up for the ninth-place finisher. Should they make a pay jump, all players will receive at least seven figures with a record eight-figure of score of $12,100,000 up top for the winner.

Seattle resident turned Las Vegas transplant Adam Walton is in familiar territory as he finished 42nd in the 2021 WSOP Main Event and now finds himself as chip leader at his first WSOP final table. Arizona's Steven Jones is next in the counts and behind him is a pair of bracelet winners in Germany's Jan-Peter Jachtmann and Georgia's Daniel Weinman, who will likely have the support of his good friends and recent six-time bracelet winners Shaun Deeb and Josh Arieh.

Day 7 chip leader Juan Maceiras dipped to the middle of the counts on Day 8 but now looks to add to his family's poker legacy that started with his father, Juan Antonio "Vietcong01" Maceiras, after a day of rest that may have involved some artillery.

"I might go shooting, I don’t know," he told PokerNews on Day 8 when asked what he was going to do on his off day. "I don’t know what to do, we’ll see. But no poker, for sure.”

Rounding out the counts are Ukraine's Ruslan Prydryk, Scottland's Dean Hutchison and Italy's Daniel Holzner, who perhaps has the most interesting Main Event story as he was staked by his friends and family as a birthday gift. A big party for them is surely in the works as the Italian farmer will likely return to the farm with seven figures.

Action on Day 9 will pick up at 1:30 p.m. local time on Level 38 with blinds of 600,000/1,200,000/1,200,000 with 1:49:10 left in the level. PokerNews will be reporting hand-for-hand coverage on an hour-long delay to prevent any spoilers of the PokerGO stream.
