David Melius opened 1,400 on the button and both Jan-Peter Jachtmann in the small blind and the big blind made the call.
The dealer spread a flop of A♠8♣7♥ and the action checked to Melius who continued for 1,000. Jachtmann check-raised to 3,500, forcing the big blind out and Melius stuck around with a call.
When the 10♣ hit the turn, Jachtmann continued aggression as he tossed 6,000 into the middle. Melius called.
The 3♥ completed the board on the river and Jachtmann flung 12,000 across the line. Melius gave it some serious thought and after about 45 seconds, he released his hand.
After the table asked him to show, he tabled one card, showing the A♥.

PokerNews arrived at the table to see a pot between Craig McCorkell and the player seated in the hijack.
There were around 27,000 chips in the middle on a flop of 2♦8♦3♣. Craig McCorkell had moved all in from under the gun for roughly 26,000 and his opponent went deep into the tank. After mulling over the decision for roughly two minutes, he reluctantly folded his cards and forfeited the pot to McCorkell.

The action from the hand prior to the river was relayed to PokerNews by a player at the table not involved in the hand.
Mateos Sahakian opened from middle position and was called by a player on the button. Tarun Goyal then three-bet out of the big blind only to see Sahakian come back over the top with a four-bet. That convinced the button player to get out of the way but Goyal called to send the two players to the flop with a heap of chips already in the middle.
Goyal check-called a continuation bet of around one third of the pot following the Q♠K♠2♥ flop.
Action checked through the Q♣ turn to the 5♣ river at which point Goyal checked again. Sahakian bet 20,000 but was met by an all in raise from Goyal. Sahakian, the effective stack with 30,000 behind, seemed dismayed as he repeatedly said his opponent could not have a bluff in this spot.
Eventually he open folded K♣K♦ for the second nuts and, despite imploring Goyal to table his holding, his opponent did not oblige to leave Sahakian and everyone besides Goyal wondering if this was one of the great folds seemingly unique to the main event or a missed opportunity for a double up.

A player opened to 1,500 from under the gun, Nick Petrangelo three-bet to 4,500 next to act, and a player in middle position cold-called while the under the gun player got out of the way.
On the 8♥6♦2♦ flop, Petrangelo checked to his opponent who bet 7,000. Petrangelo responded with a check-raise to 19,000, and his opponent swiftly folded, ceding a sizeable pot to Petrangelo without showdown.

On a flop of Q♥6♣A♠, Wai Kiat Lee check-called a bet of 1,500 from the cutoff.
A 9♣ hit the turn which was checked by both players, as was the A♦ river. Lee showed 9♦6♥ for a counterfeited two pair, and the cutoff tabled 10♥9♥ which meant they chopped up the pot.

With around 8,000 chips in the pot, the player in the cutoff had gone all in for 11,900 on a flop of 8♦5♦3♠. Daniel Vehring called on the button before Richard Lingden also went all in for 34,400 in early position.
Vehring tanked a while before calling it off, putting both of his opponents at risk.
Cutoff: 7♦6♥
Richard Lingden: 3♦3♣
Daniel Vehring: A♦9♦
The turn brought the 10♦, upgrading Vehring to a flush and leaving the cutoff drawing dead. The 9♥ river did not give Lingden a full house, and both players said their goodbyes with around 30 minutes remaining on the clock.
